Come Play With Us (earn a free tshirt)
For those of you who said you couldn't afford a t-shirt, help us and we will send you a shirt no charge. Read below.
So we have been brainstorming about how to draw new members to FFR today and we have come up with a fairly solid idea. I wanted to pass it by all the members here before we take another step forward with it. Basically we grow almost solely by word of mouth. Very few sites link to us and it is amazing when you think about how much FFR grows despite the lack of links from quality sites. Now imagine what we could do if we mobilized our members and gave them a reason to draw new unique traffic in and helped expose a whole new generation to FFR. There are a few ideas but lets start with the one that we worked the most on today. We have written a script that you can include as a link in your sigs on other sites, hyperlinks, social networking sites, homepages etc..etc.. This is not just another link but rather a special link that keeps track of these things: It knows who placed the link It keeps track of how many people click your link It excludes all in site FFR clicks (do not put it in your sig here) It knows where the link was clicked Every 5000 legit inbound links = 1 Free t-shirt It then takes this information and assigns you a score based on the unique incoming people that click this link on other sites. These numbers will be public and displayed on the front page. So lets say Afrobean put the link in his sig on another site and had 40 people click that link. His rating would be 40 and he would then be sorted in the list on the main page by rating. Besides people wanting to be high on the list, we will be organizing a structure that will give people credit in our store towards shirts, stickers or whatever else we have in stock. Effectively giving you a means of getting merchandise for free depending on how much unique traffic you send FFR. It's a win/win for all. And basically, the link is like this: Code:

Right now we are thinking somewhere (throwing this around) at or under 5000 unique inbound clicks for a t-shirt.. When you think about it, you place the link in your banners on other sites or place it in high traffic areas and you could quickly accumulate that many inbound links. We would then have a system that would send you a coupon for 100% off + no shipping and voila. We would rather pay you guys to advertise and bring people into our community than someone else. That's the way I get people to join too... they see me playing, and they decide they want to try it, if they don't fail the first song, then they're generally hooked.

Re: Come Play With Us
Very cool. I've already chanced the url on all the other forums where I had my FFR sig, and my myspace for this. I like it how it seems like even more encouragement to get new people to join.

You can have the link on FFR anywhere, but you just don't get any "come play" points. |

Synthlight has been messing with this for a good portion of this day, so make sure you use it. If all goes well, maybe that fast food chain won't be just a dream, eh Synthlight? =P

Re: Come Play With Us
We get plenty of word of mouth and search engine traffic in. Don't get me wrong. I just want to expose people outside of our community and interest.
Many of you from WAY back came here from places like addictingames (before they were purchase) and were introduced to FFR before even DDR. Cheers, Synthlight |

I got into FFR through the likes of seeing a video of this dude (Shashakiro) playing some random arrows game at high speed. I had always known about this type of game but had actually stayed well clear of it due to the fact that i believed it to be too hard. I reckon that some good advertising could come from sites like youtube... Maybe if someone did like a documentary or somthing for beginners (showing hand placement and such) Just my two cents or 0.02 dollars |
