Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
We closed normal submissions earlier this month because the game was getting way too crowded with simfiles, and the queue is still huge right now. Submissions for normal sims won't be open for at least a few months.
But as the subscribers know, theres a FFR beta update that has eliminated av-misses. Meaning, all songs in the game that are Challenging and up are going to feel a great deal easier to combo and possibly score well on if you're skilled. This also means that your simfiles CAN HAVE JACKS IN THEM. As many as you want, as fast as you want. Just make sure they're actually going to the music. Because of this, we're going to reopen simfile submissions ONLY FOR For Masters Only and For Gurus Only simfiles. We're now looking for sims that are a great deal harder than the FGO songs we currently have in the game. You could say we're asking for simfiles that are 14 out of 12 in difficulty. So go step something that has a really high bpm or step something that would have a ton of hard jumpstream or jacks or anything!! Just no hands and of course freezes. Those are your only restrictions We're probably going to have an FMO/FGO week sometime in the next month or two, so we want at least 14 nice and hard FMO/FGO songs for this event. Have fun jacking up your simfiles on steroids. And don't make them crappy, we're judging these files pretty strictly. |

Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
xxxxx So if that's when they're due... Is that when you're going to begin testing them? Is there going to be time for revising files if they do not make it the first time the files are judged for the event?
xxxxx ... And how many files have you been receiving for this, anyway? Because one idea that could be interesting... If there's not many files, it shouldn't be hard to test a small batch every few days. If you gave a list of, say, what the judges believe to be the twenty best files received that's updated whenever you test batches (along with the rejected notes and everything)... Well, it would probably spark competition for those top spots. Even if on the list, artists may try making their files better so they the file is higher up on the list so there's a smaller chance of it going off the list. This might produce better files if artists are constantly trying to make them better. xxxxx And you said that the event will consist of fourteen FMOs or FGOs... But I said twenty earlier to address another problem: how the players, not just the judges, rate files. If you had the top twenty released to the subscribers , they could test files and say which fourteen they believe should be in the event. The players might not agree with the judges on which are better. So those fourteen could be released through the event, and it would give the artists of the other six files time to revise. The files could be revised (to make them even better than before) or left alone, and they would be released through normal batch. Uhm, yeah, just something I thought up earlier today... P.S. Hands? That sounds like it could be fun. I've always thought hands could do Monstrous Turtles! lots of good... At a FMO V2 of that could be interesting. And very hard. |

Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
Oh, do we still have to take index-friendly (or whatever specific style-friendly) patterns into account? I myself would prefer to use a bit of crossovers and such, but I'm asking first before decreasing my chance of getting a hard simfile in.

Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
I just made this one within the last couple of days. If I tweaked it a bit by taking out all of the holds, do you think it would have a chance?

Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
Oh **** I forgot to mention:
Tass says to MAKE SURE YOU HAVE "FMO/FGO Event" in the titles of your emails when you submit your files, or else he'll ignore it. Its not my rule, its his --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And with almost no restrictions to take into account when judging, we might look into more pitch relevant files or something. So go ahead and do your crossovers bmah. Do anything as long as it makes sense. |

Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
I'm in the middle of stepping something, but I'm not quite sure if it would be a high VC or a low FMO when it's done. Should I hold on to it or just submit it anyways?

Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
Hold onto it. We want definite FMOs or higher.
With avmisses gone, FMO songs are gonna feel more like VC songs so we want true FMOs+ EDIT: Make sure you email them to him, not PM tasselfoot@gmail.com Last edited by Rebirth0; 01-28-2008 at 03:13 AM.. |

Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY
Wow, I think I've only submitted, like, one file ever that would have been considered a FMO or higher. I cannot find a decent song to make into a hard file for FFR, but I will find something for this. I will make an epic file. I must...
One month you say? I have a goal. |

You guys are really betting Xelius will pull through ;)
Not saying I doubt his abilities, but.... technically..... this fix isn't completed yet. :) |
