![]() Dear FFR,
It has come to my attention that maybe not a lot of players may play IIDX because of the fact it is too expensive or that they have no idea where to start. Many people maybe curious from Long Gone's videos on how to start playing such a wonderful game. Here I am giving the tutorial on how to set up this game. It doesn't take long but i felt like killing 10 minutes of my time. Possible need for processing time on video Also Thanks to Long Gone the tutorial for Lunatic Rave/BMS can be found here http://pastebin.com/GHsuPFp5 Now there is the whole Free Method Versus the Pay method. Obviously the pay method taking probably a significant less amount of time and Data. Pay method needs 1. Hacked Ps2 or Japanese Ps2 or swap magic. 2. To buy a CS edition of the game which may cost near 70 bucks 3. A decent TV because most non-CRT screens have lag in timing 4. A controller of course Free version needs 1. Controller 2. Super joy box 3 3. A decent computer 4. HDDs for IIDX 5. Storm codec Enjoy. Please post in here if you need help with IIDX and me and possibly Bmah will try our bests to help your out with your personal needs. Update: Superfreak has informed me that Sirius does work on Vista so it is DJ troopers is capatable with XP Sirius is capatable with Vista and 7 To be more specific because of Bmah: That as a hacked PS2 it means that you either have a modchip put in yourself or have someone hack it as a service. Obviously the later is recommended. Swap magic is a set of Cd's that when run on your PS2 shuts down the region lock on the PS2 and you are able to run your japanese games. The risk of Swap magic however is that I have had an experience with it and my Ps2 currently is out of commission. So I would prefer for it to be professionally soft modded. I believe Jenova Sephiroth can give you help on the matter.

![]() A guide I wrote awhile back on how to set up Lunatic Rave 2 simulator for BMS, and setting up an online account for it (think of it as a 7k FFR account) http://pastebin.com/GHsuPFp5

![]() You should specify by "hacked PS2" that the method typically involves a modchip, in which installation can be done either by yourself (risky) or by a service. I obviously can't post the methods here though.
While some may feel scared that doing this will void your warranty, consider the fact that there are hardly anymore valid warranties since the PS2 is an old console now. |

![]() I softmodded my PS2 via a swap disc trick, without the need for swap magic. You do, however, need a specific PS2 game in order to do this, which can be found if you Google things correctly. It's also like $4 used. The hack itself is saved to your memory card. I'm trying not to reveal details because it's such a gray area, but I can help you easily with this if you contact me in private.

![]() <3 beatmania this is sick
@bmah: i went to my local chinese gamestore and they did it for like 5 bucks haha :] Also, on my modded PS2, I have an HDD loader (CD) which lets me load all of the files in my HDD installed to my PS2. I think I have about 80gbs in that drive. I just don't know where I put the HDD Loader itself lol. Once I get to install IIDX on my PS2, it will run more smoothly. Quite obviously this is already known because of the X360/PS3 Last edited by LJRoX; 09-2-2011 at 02:43 AM.. |

I got my PS2 modchipped at a local chinese grocery store (yes, grocery store) for $70. And from the services I've seen online, the prices are similar. you've got a good deal there |

![]() I however would still recommend this for PC mainly because due to TV upgrades these days one will never really achieve their full potential cause of lag and time adjustments do help, but it is never perfect. Normally a computer monitor for some reason tends to share better results when playing this even though the timing is harder only because it is AC timing

![]() Well there is some reasoning behind that. One he is playing BMS which leads to the fact that the timing on the songs are different. Some of them range from easy as stepmania timing to as BS as beatmania AC timing. So yes LG is good, but he admits he isn't much of a timing player
