Best player in MLB
Haven't really even posted in a long time, and I've been watching quite a bit of baseball lately. Who do you think is the best position player and the best pitcher?
I'm going to go with Adrian Gonzalez & Jered Weaver as of right now. If I were making a team, I would choose probably Halladay as my first pitcher though. Perhaps if there's no argument there, how about a top 5 position players and top 5 pitchers? :P Last edited by Vanilla Mnm; 07-28-2011 at 02:59 PM.. |

Yeah, but their statistics still stand on their own whether or not I'm a Dodger fan.

Re: Best player in MLB
right.
frank mccourt is also the best owner in baseball. and dodger fans are also the best at almost killing other fans. Clayton Kershaw is a beast though, 12-4, left handed pitcher, 2.72 ERA, he had 3 straight games with double digit strikeouts this season. And none of those three games were his highest in amount of strikeouts in one game this season. Last edited by Vanilla Mnm; 07-28-2011 at 03:04 PM.. |

Re: Best player in MLB
Maybe. I've been to the Rangers ballpark and it's really nice.
Ian Kinsler is pretty good, I think he had a 30-30 season actually. I was thinking about Jose Bautista vs Adrian Gonzalez, and I might actually take Bautista over Gonzalez simply because a 3rd baseman is more valuable than a 1st baseman. |

Re: Best player in MLB
ian kinsler did hit the cycle in 2009 and that was the year he joined the 30-30 club, hes been on the all-star team twice, and his wikipedia entry iz already twice as decorated as michael young's.
he's been a consistent performer year after year, always my favorite. |

Re: Best player in MLB
The first part of this question is very awkward... Seeing as there are 8 other positions aside from pitcher. Player X might be the best first basemen, but might not be as good as Y at shortstop. That being said, I really can't pick the best 'position player'. However, I will say Weaver takes the cake for pitching. Amazing ERA.
Also, I will throw in a vote for best hitter to Jose Reyes. And a close second to Adrian Gonzalez.

Re: Best player in MLB
I have to say Jose Bautista. Offensively and defensively he is just incredible. He is at or near the top of so many offensive categories. If he was on the Red Sox and had the people hitting in front of him that Gonzalez does, then he would have as many or more RBIs. On top of that he is a great right fielder and third basemen.
PS: I'm loving this influx of baseball posts

Re: Best player in MLB
He played right field for the first chunk of the season so far (and made the all-star team as a right fielder) but was moved to third when the jays had enough with 0 offense from the hot corner. As good as Bautista is at third, he says that he thinks right field is his best position.
