Zenith's Helping Hand Tournament!
Zenith's Helping Hand Tournament! This tournament will not be using Raw OR Combo scoring, but instead, your position in the tournament will be determined by your PA count (x-x-x-x). This tournament will also be using the buddy system, meaning you will be paired up with a player in the division above you (this excludes D7).It's been nearly two months since my last tournament, so why not host another one! The main focus of this tournament is to work in pairs to work on your accuracy, speed, and any of your weaknesses/strengths! Please read the following sections carefully! Structure How the buddy system works is that your partner is going to pick the song in a range of difficulty that I will be providing as higher divisions start getting knowledgeable in what strengths/weaknesses are and how to help others trying to learn. In the event that your partner does not pick a song (which will be due in a time constraint so I can release new rounds, I will pick your song for you. Also note that some of you will play the same song, and some of you may never play the same song. I will ALWAYS be choosing D7's song choices, as they don't have a partner division above them. If you have any questions about what's what or how everything works, please shoot me a PM regarding any of your questions, I'd be glad to answer them so you fully understand how this will work! Scoring & Eliminations! This tournament does not use Raw or Combo scoring as previously said. In so, this tournament uses your PA count to determine your placing with the other players, so the lower your PA count (x-x-x-x), the higher you will place! This is in effect due to a lot of players able to perform better than when they start a division, so I'm hoping this will be a more accurate way of telling divisional placements, etc. This style of tournament is also a NON-ELIMINATION tournament, so as long as you submit, you won't get eliminated. Placements & Divisions! This is a 1-7 Divisional tournament (like usually) so there will be no confusion. *Subject to change as I tend to not have a lot of D7 players fully submit or even enter in my tournaments, but hopefully that'll change! Placements will be entirely done by me unless I require help in which I will ask someone to help me. If you have any problems with your divisional placement, please contact me as soon as you can so I can get the issue situated as fast as I can. Starting Date & Rounds! This tournament will start on Thursday, November 21st @ 9:59pm server time. There will be 7 (seven) rounds each lasting 4 (four) days. *Subject to change due to impatient players where I could make it every three days. Rules & Submission!! No cheating. Obviously. No alt accounts, No IP sharing, all of that jazz. If you are the target of this, understand that you would be instantly DQ'd from the tournament and expect a message from administration. Please be nice to your fellow players. This will be using the buddy system, so do not abuse it. This is also grounds for immediate DQ if you do not follow this rule. I will not tolerate any verbal abuse to any player in the thread. If you have a problem with a player, take it to PMs. Late submissions for this tournament will NOT be accepted whatsoever. Around 95% of players in tournaments usually submit on time, so it shouldn't be an issue. However, if you PM me a decent reason for why you cannot submit and require an extension, I will look into it and either grant you the extension or deny it, based off of your reason. You can submit a score by taking a screenshot as per usual method, or you can submit replays. If you submit a replay, it might help your partner determine next round's song, or show where you struggle on what patterns that may or may not help you to improving as a player. If you forgot how to take a screenshot, a spoiler is below to help you. If you don't know how to submit a replay, just at the results screen after the song, hit "Save Replay" and then go on your profile into your "Recent Games", click on the replay, and post the code at the bottom of the engine screen. Tournament approved; however, you are definitely on thin ice after the debacle with credit prizes/behavior in your last tournament. Do not let it happen again.

Re: Zenith's Helping Hand Tournament!
D3 why not
Well maybe not, I don't want to drag someone else down by wanting to try d3.

Do know though that I cannot drop you down into D2 once the confirmation is made of attempting D3, as I would encourage you to push yourself! :] @Rapta, partner decisions are for mine to make, they will all be randomly chosen using a random number generator.

Re: Zenith's Helping Hand Tournament!
What do you mean by this?
higher divisions start getting knowledgeable in what strengths/weaknesses are and how to help others trying to learn.

I'll use yourself as an example. If one of your weaknesses is jumpstream, I would select Thinking Of You for you to help you improve on a weakness. Usually D4->D7 has a solid understanding of what patterns are and what it takes to get through them and improve.

Zenith picks D7 D7 picks D6 D6 picks D5 D5 picks D4 D3 picks D2 D2 picks D1 As said in the OP, when we get to starting this, there will be a time due for selections after I announce partners, and if picks aren't sent in via PM by that time constraint, then I will pick the player's song to improve on.

I'm just telling you now, because I know you'll be picking songs for me to improve on. This tournament seems interesting, I will get to stalk the d6's ranks and not be seen as weird! One more question: will you be picking D7 songs from any alternate engines?

Re: Zenith's Helping Hand Tournament!
Not that I know of because I have no access to alternate engines (like FFRMania doesn't run correctly on this laptop) but it could be possible.

Re: Zenith's Helping Hand Tournament!
Sounds kinda interesting, may as well join. So are the partners going to be doing anything other than picking the songs? How much interactivity are you expecting between partners? It'll be kinda cool to be paired up with someone higher and someone lower at the same time.

It was chosen to be 1 partner higher than lower because there might not be as many participants as I would have thought to join. We'll see how it goes nearing the start date. :]
