Eye issue
Hey guys, I've been playing this game for a few years on and off, but i noticed something a little off with my eyes after each song I play, ffr and thirdstyle mostly.
After each song i play, i noticed that my vision drifts downwards for a couple of seconds, and than it's back to normal. Anyone ever experience this, and is there a way to reduce its effects through the settings? |

Re: Eye issue
Haha this happens to me too, I think it's pretty normal man. Maybe play on a higher fps or slower speed.. but if you stare at anything long enough you get the after image effect so not sure you can do anything about that.

Re: Eye issue
when i play rhythm games this really weird thing happens where an eye ball sprouts from the center of my forehead
then my vision drifts downwards for a couple of seconds and goes back to normal Last edited by lofty rhino; 11-9-2016 at 02:43 PM.. |

Re: Eye issue
I think this is a pretty common phenomenon. I know after playing Rock Band for a while if I would look away at a wall my vision would move the wall downward from my perspective. There's probably some physiological term for this, but I don't know what it is. Nothing to worry about.
As for fixes, maybe the more you play (gradual build up of tolerance) the less the effect is. Between songs move your eyeballs around or something and see if that helps. Probably a higher fps will fix it though. -o24

Re: Eye issue
This is called a motion aftereffect. It's not physiological, it's psychological. It's perfectly normal, and actually indicates that your brain is learning to respond quicker to the arrows. Susceptibility is probably individual. I would postulate that on the contrary to others' suggestions, a lower fps would fix it, to break the illusion of motion. However, I would personally not be concerned about it unless you find it exceptionally disconcerting for some reason.

Re: Eye issue
I think since I'm already attuned to FFR's upscroll that when I play guitar hero I get like double the after-effect, it's pretty hardcore tbh lol
