20031023
The song "20031023" in FFR, the Japanese speech in the beginning.
Is that from the anime "Negima!"? I started watching that anime recently, and realized that a few lines sounded familiar. I couldn't place where I had heard them before until I started that song. Does anyone know?

Yes, all the speech samples in that song are from the first Negima series (from 2005). The song name itself is a reference too but I won't say anything more about that since that would be a major spoiler. So go watch it instead.

Negima! = Negima Manga.
I don't even know how you can think the exact same thing is a failure. Negima!? is a spinoff of the series that abandoned everything that made it great. |

This game needs for inhouse DJ Sharpnel mixes featuring underappreciated animes/mangas.

Re: 20031023
Can anyone translate that speech into English?
btw, I found that beginning very annoying to hear. |

Re: 20031023
"Evangeline-san, please, bring Asuna-san back to life!"
"What?" "You can, can't you? You're Evangeline-san after all! Surely you can bring Asuna-san back to life with your magic!" "Negi-sensei. That magic doesn't exist." "Then, can you lead me to someone who knows this magic? You know someone like that, right?" "Like I said, boy, that magic doesn't exist. "But I can bring her back--" "That magic DOESN'T EXIST!" "No..." "A dead person cannot come back to life." "NOOOOOO!" "THEY'LL NEVER COME BACK TO LIFE!" "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" "...If such magic existed... I would have already used it..." Modified from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUTSnyAltYQ, which I found in an old post here. Two things about this. One, it was incredibly well-done in the anime and I loved it. It was one of the most powerful episodes of an anime I've ever seen, right up there with the amazing moments in One Piece. It's one of the reasons I don't like the spinoff, because it doesn't have the drama as well as the comedy of the original. Two, it was completely made up just for the anime. This end of the anime doesn't exist at all in the manga (not yet at least, though I don't think he'll re-use the same ending). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiU-bLDyJks#t=5m00s And if my timestamp link doesn't work, it's at 5:00. There's a reason I consider Negima to be the best manga I've ever read (yes, better than One Piece). Even though this entire storyline doesn't exist in the manga, other amazing stories exist in its place. Last edited by Squeek; 08-31-2009 at 09:30 AM.. |

The Squeek God speaks.
too bad the 2nd series had a fail storyline (but good character design nevertheless) |
