Back on FFR!
Hi guys, haven't played in about 3 years and decided to make a come back! I am pretty rusty atm but i'm hoping that I will be able to get back on track have been a member now for over 11 years, just wanted to say hello to anyone that ever remembered me playing back in the day and hopefully some people could give me some new tips on the new engine ETC, I used to play on an old CRT monitor on 85 hz, so the gameplay was extra smooth but now i'm using an LCD obviously so i'm limited to 60 hz, that was always my secret to a smooth gameplay back then anyway. Hello everyone!
=) cheers! |

Re: Back on FFR!
Thanks man! Good to be back, so which engine does everyone use now? The new one seems good but a little glitchy on the harder songs, do people use the Legacy engine for the 70+ difficultly ones?

I don't think anyone plays on the legacy engine anymore and I know a few people who play on velocity. Most use the new engine and have it running at 60-120 fps

Re: Back on FFR!
Hey, i'll give it a try thanks =) yeah I wasn't much of a forum poster I just use to kill the stats (as much as I could) the Legacy engine is really good for me atm probably because I'm used to it, I have however noticed a few spikes in it every now and then which sucks when you have a mad combo up.

Re: Back on FFR!
I will have to give that a try also, 120 fps would be really nice and smooth =) legend

Re: Back on FFR!
Yeah that is how I have it set up atm actually, so it only says good when you make a typo I really enjoy the sound the score menu makes on Legacy though when you get a AAA, I used to nail a hard song and close my eyes and wait for the sound of the menu to play then get way too excited haha. Like the day I AAA'd 4 Chord Touhou that one took me so many goes -_- blackflag life.

Re: Back on FFR!
Welcome back!!!
I would strongly recommend staying on the R^3 Engine, before you get used to the Legacy Engine. The R^3 Engine offers millisecond timing, unlimited framerate, alternate engines, filters, isolations, rates, and many more features that will help you become a better player. A lot of your game performance has to do with your flash version and settings. I would be more than happy to help you optimize your setup by PM or Discord (PrawnSkunk#4512)! |

Re: Back on FFR!
Using the latest version of Flash is almost never the best for FFR nowadays. I would suggest downloading the Flash Player 9 standalone and you may never go back.
