Some stepping advice
I was replaying one of my songs that has a BPM of 116, and I keep having difficulties going through the song's 5 16th note jackhammers. Is there any way to make those patterns to hit?
Also, if a song has a long repetition of notes (such as being 5 to 10 bars long), do you think I should stream it or randomize it? |

Re: Some stepping advice
Well, for the 5-note jacks you could always do trills or 5-note patterns such as 14241 or whatever. But it really depends on how you're stepping everything else.
That's a lot of repetition. It's hard to say what to do without hearing the song.

Re: Some stepping advice
What I like to do when an element of a song repeats itself over and over is to follow it sloppily. The first one or two times, follow it with exact pitch relevance/technicality, but every time thereon in alter one element of how you step it, such that it is less correct but holds to the same basic arrangement, and change it up more and more as times goes on.
You can see this iin...most songs I step, really.
