Re: NASCARtastrophe
Was watching this, shocking that both the driver of the car and driver of the truck were able to walk away from that. It could have been a lot worse then it was.

Re: NASCARtastrophe
Just saw the replay on TSN, awesome crash. Walked away from it like Bond would.

Re: NASCARtastrophe
So at first I thought it was going at normal speed and I was really confused how he crashed going about 10 miles per hour.

Re: NASCARtastrophe
I just finished watching the Daytona 500, and I'm surprised to see a topic mentioning the fire on this forum ahaha. Speculation is that his transmission broke, making the car un-steerable.

Re: NASCARtastrophe
I've always wondered how Nascartastrophic it would be if they placed the drivers in a race with only right turns..

Re: NASCARtastrophe
Both replays were played in slow motion, he was going at least 120 MPH. I mean, just look at how wrecked that car is. I don't think you can horizontally skid across the track for 10 feet at 10 MPH.

Re: NASCARtastrophe
Well obviously not, it just didn't look like slow motion because they are probably using a slow motion camera with thousands of extra frames per second.

Nothing.

Re: NASCARtastrophe
Jet dryer trucks typically drive really slow, they're there to dry the pavement when it's wet. Since they were on the track it was probably also a caution lap where the cars have a speed limit. The footage is indeed from a high speed camera, but not THAT highspeed, it's probably shot from a Red Epic camera or something similar, which for live tv records at 120fps, so played back at 30fps is 1/4 speed. He was driving at probably 60mph or so.
