Re: KEVIN_18 SIMS
*reads all of the tread*
In case all of you are too stupid to find this out, here it is in plain English:
NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY, KEVIN18 WILL NOT STOP MAKING THESE SIMS
If you don't like them, don't play them and let this tread be for people who can give Kev some real feedback/ praise for his work. Like me, he does not have too many friends and if he's anything like me he doesnt give a damn about your rants so give us some peace.Comment

Hey, here have a summary:
Originally posted by CommunityKevin your sims need some work*Churns out 200 simfiles*Originally posted by KevinNo they don't, if you don't like them then don't play them
Originally posted by CommunityLook man, really, you need to focus on making your sims better, they are horrible, try to focus on making one good simfile over time rather than 3 a dayLets just face it guys, kevin is retarded, he doesn't want to listen to advice because he is closed-minded. He thinks his simfiles need no work, he feels he is "original" and because he has a small fanbase which includes "MixMasterLar[hahahahaha]" that his simfiles actually have some merit.Originally posted by KevinSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP. I have no life ok, I have never had a girlfriend, I have nothing to do but spend 8 hours a day making simfiles so if you don't like them I don't care, as it keeps me from commiting suicide.
The guy is hanging on to false hope and there is nothing we can do to make him realise that he could actually be good if he took more time over each individual simfile. Ohwell.Comment

Hey kevin
If I tried out some your sims and gave you unbiased constructive criticism, would you listen to it?Comment

Re: KEVIN_18 SIMS
Sure, I'd be happy to listen to a person who gives me atleast 1 positive comment
. Plus a well known sim maker giving me advice would be great.

I never recall saying the following "as it keeps me from commiting suicide." The rest is fine though.Last edited by Kevin_18; 10-2-2006, 02:21 PM.Comment

Re: KEVIN_18 SIMS
I do feel that if you were deprived of Stepmania and simfile making that you would contemplate suicide on the basis that you have nothing in your life of worth or happiness.
Also, in response to your "I'll listen to constructive criticism" point:
You don't just decide to put a stream in a file and call it good. If you can't tell where the notes are, just slow it down and use assist tick.o more then most people in this thread, to be certain. Sorry if I sound like I'm coming too harsh on you or anything, I'm just suggesting that a more flowing stepping style might make your files more popular. Give it a go?Black UFO: 16ths everywhere that don't flow. Plus, "copied From" = fail.
In The Sky: Are there supposed to be 12th and 32nd notes here and there? Just looking at the notechart and following the mp3 here, but maybe you should slow down to at least x0.5 to make sure. I don't think it should be like that.the stream doesn't flow at all and the random 16ths are inconsistent as hellOk listen, what you should do is:
1. Keep making files, don't release them.
2. When you think you've made a really awesome file, IM/PM some moderately well known people if they would like to test the file for you, and give you constructive criticism.
3. Take their feedback and work on anything that wasn't good and try your best to make it better.
4. After fixing your file, get some good graphics (I'll make you some graphics for the file IF, the file is good), and release it.
Uhh, yeah, hope that helps.Like I said earlier, your sims would be passable (not necessarily good, but okay) if you had the right BPM. You should never have to offset the steps 1/4th of a beat because they're off unless the music drops 1/4th of the beat. If you're having to do that, chances are your BPM is wrong. You should find a better, more accurate method of finding the BPM than what you do now.Try focusing more on quality control rather than trying to get as many sims out there as possible to make yourself known.
It's better to be known as a decent sim author for one really good simfile you released, than as a crappy one who's released like tons of really crappy ones.Try spending more time playing good files and less time making bad ones. Come back to making files when you have a clue how to make fun/interesting/on-beat steps. I'm sorry to be so blunt but it seems you haven't understood this when 10+ people told you in a more polite fasion.I'm sorry to be so blunt, but you've gotten plenty of proactive feedback but, you just don't seem to take the advice and roll with it. You need to learn this. Also, instead of making so many files, Spend more time just making one.Put more than one days effort into making files. Try to find a song that has interesting beats/sounds rather than just a song that sounds good (that doesn't mean you can't step good music, it just means that it's a lower priority). There are already enough simfiles out there. If we wanted more, we would want them to be of good quality.
How much criticism do you need. Seriously man I feel like unless someone says they like your file you just put up a mental block and go "la la la my files are good I can't hear you". Try actually reading what people are saying before acting like a dumbass.Comment
