in a way, zelda isnt linear but in a way it is. by not linear you can choose to or not to do the sidequests. its linear because the path of the quest is set for you. but how the path will form for you is your chioce. you could do sidequests before you do a dungeon or vice versa.
If fedex and ups merged theyd be fedup

yes but as he said its linear. you cannot choose which dungeon you would like to go to. its like if you wanted to do the last but you cant because ya gotta do all of the other crap you have to take care of first like get the important items and the like. actually ill change my vote from gta to maybe some final fantasy games. yes i know its linear but you can do many sidequests before you go on to the next objective or you could level up and all of that.

what the hell are you guys thinking Morrowind what the hell are you guys smoking.

          THE SIMS is my answer

If i wanted to i could trap my guys and watch him die or make him do it. That game has no mission but for try to keep your guy alive.

if i wanted to, i could do that in rollercoaster tycoon. commiting suicide and murder is getting old in video games.

GTA 3,VC. C'mon people, name one thing that you can't do in those games.

(I have 1 and 2 too, but they don't let you do as much as 3 and VC)

hmm, just about any game that lets you customize your own levels/stuff has quite a bit of freedom. (Levels like sim racing (I think that's what it's called) stuff like sim city or the sims)...

Yeah, pretty much anything with sim in the name.

                      its morrowind oh yeah
totally moddable so you can make whatever guy u want like a 20 foot tall dragon as your dude or a 1 foot tall ball of yarn!!!
the main quest is short like 5 hours but there are over 1000 side quest including 2 official expansion packs and many unofficial made by players like me.
the only dray back is that u cant take the tables or beds with you but everything else is an item candles, food, cloths, etc.
you can alos tkae ppl clothes while tyhere alive its funny as hell.
you can kill anything that moves. townsppl the king of the whole place if you can find him and a whole bunch of monsters. there is no limit on what u can do. the world has an infinate amount of space you can fly over the ocean and never return to starting point. the graphics rule too. did i mention you can fly run at mach 3 and jump cities in single bounds!!!!! no kidding. buy it today lol
you can ignore the truth or deny it out right but that doesn\'t change the fact that you\'re wrong!!

                      I like Flamethrowers period.

Metroid 3 / Super Metroid is almost completely nonlinear. You can go through the game and get 76% of the entire items without finghting a single boss or miniboss.

And Yes, most Zelda games are very linear, but Ocarina of Time gives you a lot of freedom, but yes, it still is linear to an extent.

I beat Super Metroid in like... 45 minutes once. But there's some crazy times on the GameFAQs boards, with videos too.
