take for instance and older person. single. lives alone. addicted to, say, WoW. what's to make him check into rehab? he certainly isn't going to do it himself. which makes the whole rehab for gamers useless.
if, persay, someone with the same addiction has family/friends who let this person know they have a problem, they'd be better off trying to convince him to shapen up. unless the case is EXTREMELY bad, there is no reason to go into rehab.
the thought of going to rehab would only worsen their mental state.
*per se.
If you go by your logic then all rehabilitation institutes are pointless. Way to contradict yourself. What's to make a drug addict check himself into rehab if they don't have family or friends that intervene.
Your arguement has no logic to it. "Rehab clinics should be made for people that are actually in danger," So neglecting food to level up on a game isn't a danger? Becoming suicidal over dying in a game isn't a danger? If you actually believe your arguement is true then you really need help.
Go get an intervention for yourself. Or better yet, an enema.
Rehab patients from WoW would be a bitch to work with.
don't know who said something about WoW and hermits, but it's true. I pretty much missed everything that happened in April. It was Wake up, World of Warcraft, Bed. 18-20 hours a day. In that month alone I got 16 days of play time on one character.
Shuffle! broke my WoW addiction, to be honest. Something about the ending at 21 (ROFL IM GAY) broke me off of WoW, and I became a much lighter player. And only a few days ago, I deleted it all together, since I got banned from the forums anyways (Posted this: All minorities are inferior to white people. It's the truth.) 10 day ban from the forum and 3 day from WoW.
Rehab would be nice for the people who can't break the habit for more than 72 hours.
I would go to a rehab center.
People ask me to go places with them but I'd just rather play Guild Wars. I'm probably putting that girl through hell. We're going to different high schools and she wants to stay in touch for as long as possible, and here I am blowing her off because I want to make Minions out of stuff I kill instead.
Last year I bought a season pass to Six Flags. About 2 or 3 days before I went to activate it, I got into Conquer Online. The only time I went to Six Flags that entire year was when I went to get a season pass, which was $90, activated that I never again used.

Mindfields... never play MMORPGs if you can get addicted to them easily. It's that simple. Most MMORPGs aren't even that fun, just addictive. My favorite is Puzzle Pirates, which I still play on occassion.
Of course I'd never PAY for an MMORPG.
The first and last MMORPG I'll ever be addicted to is Runescape. God damn Runescape blows. I quit it as everyone in my school was finding out about it, too. I told them all "no Runescape sucks" but they told me "stfu lol".
Now I tell them Maple Story sucks and a few of them are getting into Maple Story.
This is one kid's Xfire from my school:
MapleStory MapleStory 27 hours 27 hours
Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer 3 hours 3 hours
And he's playing MapleStory as I speak, so that's probably another 3-4 hours yet to be added.
My Mate is addicted to WoW. Seriously. Really bad. You can hardly remove him from it. And when you do. "Aww man I got a quest to do at nine". I can't wait to show him that it does mess you up.
