No one is going to give you a damn hair test. That's unheard of for a job. I'm sure you're not working for NASA. Drink A LOT of water and it will be gone in a week TOPS.

Wrong. I work for an amusement park. I worked there last year from February-November, and I reapplied and already started training (i work on a rollercoaster lol). To even get the job, we have to take and pass a drug/alcohol test with flying colors. For the test, we pee like 60mL of urine in a cup and they cut so much hair off our head/anywhere in the body if we don't have enough hair on the scalp. It's been done many times. It's called a "Hair Follicle test."

These tests are done randomly to employees. I doubt they'll do one soon since i just started, but it's possible.

Since you just started? I'd say they'd do them more frequently to new employees, sounds more logical. I doubt they do them a lot, though. Probably once a month for a couple months, then they'll lighten up.

You know, kind of like how teachers get tenured. They get watched on a lot by other people, and after they get tenured, they're out of the clear unless they do really stupid things. Or you could also compare it to a "trust relationship." They'll be more careful of you, but when that trust builds, they won't need to do it much at all.

Then again, they could just assume all their new employees are perfect angels and will just do a rotation of the tests. Who knows.

But remember, after you take a drug test and pass, have a smoke for a celebration rofl

I can understand why. If you are in charge of operating a multi-million dollar ride that has the possibility to kill a person if they arent strapped in properly, then it'd be wise to make sure your employees arent into mind altering substances.

If you are worried, get a job at a college book store as a student employee where they would prefer that you be drunk/stoned on the job.

Hair tests? As in, the smoke gets in your hair and they find residue? I've never heard of that before, but you could probably get away with saying that you have tons of friends that smoke pot and that sometimes you're around them while they smoke but you don't do it (which may be mostly true, which makes it easier to lie about), but the smoke gets around your hair.

I wouldnt worry about it dancingmaniac3. All circumstances are out of your hands. They are random drug tests, if you get tested, well...good luck with that.

Wouldn't a hair test show show residue if you hang around people who smoke pot?

Hair test does not test for smoke residue, I believe, but for the residue of chemicals released into the body while smoking pot. You have to smoke the pot yourself for it to show up in your hair.

guys hair tests don't work based on the fact that the smoke gets in your hair or something... that's dumb. When hair grows it contains with it many of the metabolites active in the circulatory system... meaning that if THC is inside you it will be detectable in your hair. If you've just been exposed to the smoke you would have nothing to worry about.

So does that mean it's to your advantage to have short hair? Or do they only take the root of your hair? cause it can only get in your hair if you have it in your system at the time right? Only the hair that grows while it's in your system will have THC in it?

Edit: just realized they probably get it from your arm or something so this is irrelevant.
