After working in a retail store where I get 100 calls a day telling people they already won't be able to get one, this PISSES ME THE HELL OFF. If they came to whatever store I was at and I knew what they planned, I wouldn't sell it to them because I wouldn't need their money. I know it'd get sold.

You're an idiot. Who are you to determine how a customer wishes to use a product that he has legitimately purchased? You are not the owner of the store, it is not up to your discretion to choose to accept or refuse someone's money. Furthermore, how are you to say that they will not get more value and enjoyment out of breaking their x-box 360 than a kid who gets it for christmas and never plays it.

Thirdly, it's a publicity stunt designed to serve no purpose. What are these guys going to accomplish? They will make whoever the first person in line to be told "Sorry, we're all sold out" violently angry. They just want to do it to "piss off fanboys", but that's a really stupid reason, partly because wanting to piss off any kind of fanboy usually means whomever is simply a fanboy of something else.

I'm just going to leave this up to you've never worked retail. You have NO IDEA what it's like dealing with upset people who had money they were going to spend and now cannot for whatever reason. I dunno, maybe it IS just me not wanting to see people suffer in any way, but this kind of stuff doesn't do anyone any good.

I think that is a pretty good reason right there. American culture is too materialistic. If the destruction of an inanimate object like a video game system can drive someone to violence and this behavior is socially accepted, then perhaps society has a few issues to deal with.

No, I too, do not have any idea what it is like dealing with upset people etc. but I do know that you should not feel guilty nor should you take abuse from anyone who is unhappy due to circumstances outside of your control.

Having an Xbox360 can only make someone temporarily happy, or until the person finds something else he/she wants, if that.

Personally, I think this whole campaign for smashing things for the sake of pissing off a bunch of people is hilarious in that it evokes so much emotion...sadness, hatred, anger..hell, you'd think it was 9/11 all over again.

Theres going to be a riot. New console fanboys are totally insane. When the PS2 came out some guy took a baseball bat to a kids arm and stole the console from him right in front of best buy. They dont need bodyguards they need a tank.
