1) You can't say that PS3 will bomb or that X-BOX360 will dominate hands down. Online play is uber important, Sony is adding that. Microsoft did damned good on their first go around, and Sony has them as an example, so I wouldn't be surprised if Sony did it great on their first try. You're also forgetting that the majority of people are shallow idiots that will buy consoles based just on graphics. That alone will get PS3 tons of sales. I was talking to one kid at school about how PS3 will own graphically, he didn't believe me, I showed him the Killzone 2 video, and he said fuck X-Box he's getting a PS3. Lots of people are like this, whether you want to admit it or not.
2) Don't get me wrong, I think Nintendo is awesome for making crazy shit, I just think that they do it too much for their own good. I would hate to see them go downhill because they're too different for most people, but I fear it would happen. If they're out of the picture, Sony and Microsoft will keep using the same shit over and over. As it is, they wait for Nintendo to do interesting stuff and then they steal it. Without Nintendo, we'll lose a lot of the innovation.
3) I expect better than a console war topic from a moderator. This topic was made blatently to call PS3 a piece of junk, and a console war topic was guaranteed to occur. Had a person with ~100 posts posted this EXACT same topic, it would have gotten locked after a few replies because it would just be people fighting. Seriously, just lock this topic and keep console discussion to the stickies up top. They're there for a reason. So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

you should've showed him some real bonafide in-game footage of PS3...which is still impressive as hell, but not killzone calibur.
Props (finally) to EB for talking about the innovation factor...I don't even give a shit if nobody on this site likes it, but it's necessary. and if they can make some more non-game games, they'll have a smash on their hands.I'll trade you this delicious doorstop for your crummy old danish.
Done, and done.Comment

Personally, with the way things have progressed in the first and only MMORPG I've ever played (take a guess), I'm pretty much set on this following theory:
People are retarded.
That being said, I'd use online play very rarely to play against some friends or friends of friends from afar. I'd never use it like some people do in Counter Strike and search for new rivals every day.
There is someone in a college a few hours away who I really need to challenge in Super Smash Brothers again. Our battles took half an hour to get 6 kills because we could never land a hit on the other guy. We were so equally matched. This is a prime example of what I would use the online play for. Re-match upon re-match without a 5-hour drive.

I hate the fact that I want to respond to EB's post so bad, yet I can't find the words to type what I want to say without makeing myself feel like im repeating everything that I have already said. Or something someone else has already said. OR something that was said between two people where you would have to think about it to come to a conclusion about what was just said.

Squeek, someone (maybe it was Reggie) once said that the Revo was being made not to compete with the 360 and PS3, but to be an addition - a supplement, if you will - to one's next-gen gaming choices. People are more or less expected to get a Revo and either the 360 or PS3. This is because of the both of the price difference and the difference in system styles.
Concerning multiplayer, if the rumors about what the Revo will do are true, then not only will it have online MP capability, but it'll extend back to the backwards compatibility, so we'll be able to have stuff like Super Smash, GoldenEye/Perfect Dark and StarFox 64 online play. If Nintendo pulled that off it would definitely cement them a spot in the online world.I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.Comment

I've already played Call of Duty 2 for 360. My local Walmart had it on so people could try it out. The little controllers that are coming off the game cases that are hooked up to the T.V. and allow you to try games or demos out before buying. Yeah the graphics look really good. Good Combat. Not much else to say. I didn't play that long.Life, is a prophesyComment

A couple of things I noticed, skimming through this thread:
My opinion exactly. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.Originally posted by LaharlThe Revolution looks to be Nintendo officially abandoning all common sense, if you want my personal opinion. They've decided that gimmicks are their thing, I guess, which pisses me right the hell off. Everything about the Revolution looked fantastic to me until they revealed it's UTTERLY STUPID controller.
NINTENDO:
I do not want to change the way I play games. YOUR stuff is the reason I like playing games in the format most console games are relased in already, you don't need to redefine what you guys perfected.
~Sincerely,
Casey C Lantz
How about they try something new in the form of an add-on, and not in the form of a multi-hundred dollar console.Nintendo's approach is to mix things up a little and, you know, TRY SOMETHING NEW.
THANK YOU.Originally posted by 87xToo bad your opinion isn't the majority.
