don't feel that way personally, think that claiming here is more scummy as it removes the potential for no kill if mellon was to be nk'd, paired with the point that wolves probable best chance is with the bp gone, and only way this is happening is from them getting lynched in a forced thunderdome from a fakeclaim.

Other wolf then free to believe the real bp for fake brownie points which we saw with shadowgod, while the fake wolf can clog the thread up with bunch of crap to make it harder for people to see what's actually going on rather than building concrete case on mellon, which she saw and brought up. Seeing how reluctant people were to believe mellon makes me doubt that she would've ended up being believed by majority so I'm curious how far shadow would've been able to go afterward with only sunfan from what I really saw saying they'd vote him after thunderdome was cleared up.

the no-kill (or night without a kill) wasn't really important anyways; it didn't give town another kill, so nothing really got "taken away" from it

ffa was going to vote haku, dunno if shadow would've ended up doing so as well but there were at least three between sunfan, ffa and obviously raeko

I kind of wish I knew how it would've ended up playing out

I forget the name of the axiom, but when I played my champs game last season, the issue of fake claiming came up because I was INSTA'D as the JOAT in my game due to some fakeclaiming shenanigans. the axiom goes that in fakeclaiming situations, the first claims in a thread are more likely to be wolves

there's a huge rhetorical advantage you get by claiming first: it frames the current game state around your proposition and players start solving from there
this gives the most advantage to the wolves considering they benefit the most from such a paradigm shift. if they claim first, it gives them that framing advantage. any delay in response just gives the thread time to start solving from the "solved" point of view with the new claim. we saw this happen this game with Haku getting advantage over raeko at first.

obviously this is just one of those informal axioms like the Manti rule, so take it with a grain of salt

The axiom is interesting. I think it would be much more likely from a proactive team to be aware of and make use of the framing advantage. I think a newer or more risk adverse team could prefer to wait to find out who the special role is to better gauge how trusted the person is first.

The problem is that boldly coming out with a claim as wolf is usually very risky.
The closer to LYLO it happens, the more likely you are to be able to get away with it.

I have something really, really special for the 200th game
its ambitious, and I think it will expand the idea of what a mafia game can be in a way that, truly, I can make all the players happy
