      the first person i ever met online was charles claythorne (aka mashi aka a goat), on valentine's day, in nyc. we went to an arcade

      at the end he thought i hated him 'cause i didn't talk but you know. also my roommate (i was a freshman in college then) was like "DON'T DIE. LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU COME HOME" and i was like "it's mashi it's ok"

      since then i've met more ffr folks and saw mashi a second time

        My parents were pretty paranoid about even allowing me to freely access the internet. Which, of course, mysteriously stopped the moment I entered high school. I guess they had no choice but to accept the reality that the world was changing and that frequent computer use was the new norm.
