Yeah, I end up double stepping on that a lot, that and Daikenkai, with its bullshit patterns and all. In general, though, it's a good idea to avoid double stepping all you can.

6 with my left (ie basic crossover)
        8 with my left
        4 with my left

So I'm basically hitting 3 panels with the same foot. I find this to be the most confortable method, but like I said it doesn't work so hot with fast songs. Note: on slow songs I actually spin, but this method os for songs where it's too fast to spin for me, ie Max 300 standard has this part... nevermind :P
Instead of the spin, which is just about impossible to do in normal play on a hard song, I do it a different way than you do. I hit....
        4 with my left.
        2 with my right.
        6 with my right (again).
        8 with my left.

Still, there is no easy way to do this. Even here, it's hard to do on hard songs.

One thing that I did have a problem with is Afronova. In the beginning, there is a part that I could not figure out. I had to see people do the song correctly to get it. The part was, seriously, 426486426486426. I found out that I had to cross over not only left on the 6, but then put my right on the 4 right after to get it to work. After that, it was a breeze.

I have trouble on PSMO, because the crossovers are near impossible cuz they are all over the dang place.

The crossovers on PSMO aren't that hard if you study them. Crossovers aren't my problem, it's being too fast when playing. I fail PSMO because I'm too fast.

About your past Afronova problem, I had your same problem. If you turn your body with you facing the 4, it becomes simple. When you turn toward the left arrow, the 426486426482426 turns into 842862842862842, which is so much easier. However, it kinda puts you in a bad position for the upcoming jumps. But, if you are fast enough, it's not too bad.

                    Crossovers!

For the longest time I was just in a rut with DDR. I could play most of the heavy songs and pass alright, but some songs I was just confused on how to do it! And then one time at an arcade I was watching this kid playing (He was the best I'd ever seen, holy crap...) and he was playing End of the Century, and In saw him do the crossovers. And suddenly it hit me! I could do crossovers!

I could suddenly do so many more songs with more ease. It just feels better too. *sniff* Crossovers saved my life...

You guys all think HVAM is tiring? I beat it on my first try with only 3 misses, and I use HVAM like it's easy. Although the 8th jumps are tricky...

Matsuri----------I thought was actually annoying more than tiring, the gallops constantly repeat themselves, it's quite annoying, same thing w/ Twilight Zone for the beginning. I don't know about Cartoon Heroes, i haven't tried it...yet. I remember Witch Doctor making my knees freakin' numb...and so did Exotic Ethnic. Those crossovers are fast as heck.

And CSFIL Speed Mix...well, it's tiring to your legs, but not physically...I haven't seen anyone sweat to that song.

Also, as HVAM said, Sakura is very a weak 10, I black flagged it on my second try.

What else...oh yeah---I haven't tried Stoic, but if it's like DXY! then it will not be fun for me. Oh, sorry about the long post. Carry on...

Crossing over is such a waste of energy. If you can, double step as much as possible because being consistent at that will make you consistent at just about every song that doesn't have transparent alternations in their patterns (i.e. 96% of the playlist).

Having trouble doing crossovers? Cant seem to make use of BOTH your feet without falling off the pad? Well I have the answer for you. STOP DOING SONGS YOU CANT PASS! Once you are able to do crossovers on easier songs, doing the harder songs will come to you naturally with time and practice. You're goal is this: Exotic Ethnic on heavy. Like a former poster said, this song is loaded with crossovers. It IS possible to play through it without using the same foot twice. For a look at this song, go to:

Start on your left foot...and go from there lol. What I used to do to help me was print off these step charts and write which foot I would use on each note, giving me a map of the song to follow.

As a side note, I KNOW most of the more advanced players have not been able to figure out Afronova Re-Venge crossovers. You know what part I'm talking about...

                          Afronova Re-Venge Step Chart:

At box 17 the steps and feet are as follows:

Start on your left foot, then go from there You will find yourself sideways on the pad, and I suppose you are not in fact doing crossovers at all, just playing sideways lol. Easiest thing to do is print that page and start on your left foot at the beginning and alternate LRLR until you get to the end.

                          Hope that helps!
