You'd have to think as a possibility that after the massive website crash some years ago, registrations slowed down and OGs stopped coming here regularly or stopped coming here altogether. IMO, had the crash not happened, we'd be passed 2mil.
edit: And I stopped making alts after I was given a pardon.
84,000 accounts have any activity in the last 3 years.
So what...95.8% of all existing accounts haven't had any activity in over 3 years?
84,000 accounts have activity in the last 3 years -> 67,300 of them were created inside that 3 year window. So of everybody with activity in the last three years, only 20% pre-existed that time window.
Of the 84,000 accounts, only 5400 have ever made a post on the forum. Only 2650 have made more than 10 posts, 1290 have made more than 100 posts.

800 players at a time on average is WAAAY more than our 2200 at least once this month.
Even if 50% of those logins were regulars who come often, and even if 50% of the total people in a day are all on at a certain peak hour, that's only 550 players at "peak" and most of them are far less active than that.
We have "453" players right now according to the site. Of them only 14 actually have accounts.
Back when I did stuff for FFR the session hash (that identifies a connected browsing session) was hand rolled for things outside of the forums, and it was an incorrect reimplementation of VBulletin's session hash. As a result, when search engine bots start crawling the site each page view generates a new session hash and causes a new "User active in last X minutes" to get registered. This dramatically inflates the online user estimates.
Re: How long do you all think it will be until we hit 2,000,000 members?
I'm more curious to what options are available to create a more active fan base of a site like this. The amount of members are more of an issue of vanity. A YouTube channel can have millions of subscribers, but only a certain amount will regularly watch their videos.
Is FFR just becoming increasingly outdated in relation to gaming culture? Rhythm games aren't as popular as they used to be, at least not Bemani games like DDR, IIDX, etc. Nowadays people go to Just Dance and Osu for rhythm games. Maybe in the future there will be a new wave of interest in these types of games? Either way, I'd like to see this site continue.
