But you should track down a cheap copy of X it's great and isn't too far off from what the old games where doing

I once had my disc stop working; it would always freeze at the same spot (it was near the end of the game too)

I loved the game so much I threw that one out and got a new one

it would freeze in the same spot

I was sad

there are really charming things about FF7 imo, but it's more of an "impactful" game, rather than a "good" game, if you catch my drift

i.e. you can thank FF7 for RPGs being so prevalent in the west

6, 4, 10, and Tactics are my faves though personally

Okay... there's something that seems to be sprouted from the Internet.

Is FFXIII actually bad? I've never played it, but only heard negative opinions about it.

So... is it?

Some things I doubt even defenders of the game will disagree with:

It's on rails and everything is a hallway

It's characters are at best FFVII Clones (You start out as an ex soldier on a train with a generic black guy character going to cause a rebellion) and boringly cringe at worst (Hope)

Battle System is like Star Ocean if Star Ocean was boring and required you to mash the same button over and over

Every name of anything not in your party sounds the same

You can't chose a party until Chapter 11 out of 13.

The stiffest of dialog

Story just stops and expects you to play XIII2


GOOD THINGS

If you can get a handle on the plot, it's a somewhat interesting set up

The setting and idea of the curses (fa'cie?) is neat

Vi/VII/VIII or X probably will be first, then. X would be most likely due to console/game availability tho assuming I use a legit physical console

This is another Internet opinion I seem to hear a lot.

Even though it brought back the ATB system.

If you ever feel like playing FFX2 then stop yourself and play FFV instead


Everything people try and defend about X2 is better in V
