Meanwhile in PIT-WSH, Kris Letang is going to go to an in-person hearing for his late, high hit on Marcus Johansson, which means a suspension of more than 5 games is on the table. This will nicely counteract Brooks Orpik's three-game ban.

Also, turns out there's a strict 0.6 second time window between releasing the puck and getting hit before it's considered late. Orpik's hit was more than a second after the fact, making it "excessively late" while Letang's was 0.03 seconds too slow. That, and Johansson was able to keep playing, which will probably spell a ban of 1 or 2 games. (Spoiler alert: It was only 1 game.)

Regardless, Letang is a very important piece of the Penguins defense. The Capitals must seize this opportunity.

I'm so pissed off. Washington HAD to take this game since Pitt was lacking one of their top defensemen. Now they have to find a way to win Game 5 without Orpik, who's on the last game of his suspension.
