Everyone on both sides of my family have been extremely forth-coming, and are trying to work together in terms of funeral services. In the meantime, I'm back in Peterborough. I initially wanted to stay at my mother's sisters place with my brother, but my brother wanted to go back and spend the night at the apartment with the cats. One of my mom's dying wishes with what comprehension she had to speak, was to feed the cats, so he wanted to be there for the cats.

I'm going to take a big long shower, and probably try my best to rethink my life in the process. I'll answer what questions/messages/skypes that I get when I get back. My brother is taking it excruciatingly hard.

We were sleeping for about an hour or so when my father's phone received a text message from the hospital saying that my mother's condition had worsened, and that it would be best to stop by as soon as possible. We put everything on, and headed over to the hospital.

When we got there, it was found that her heart rate dropped from 70 to 40, and that her heart may give out at any moment at this time considering it happened extremely quickly, and that we should probably stay to see if the condition worsens or gets better. There were lots of talk about what to do if she doesn't make it, what rehabilitation would need to be done if she did make it by miracle, but at this point in time we began expecting the worst. Family & doctors decided to remove the respirator early & end the sedatives early before another serious fluctuation in heart rate occurred.



At approximately 2:35AM EST, on February the 22nd, 2015, Patricia Walker (aged 54) passed away at Sherbrooke Hospital, Toronto, ON. The cause of death is sudden stroke.

If the reality of the cruelties of life are coming down on you too hard, I feel your pain, feel free to talk. My condolences man. Only in deep thought can I imagine a loss as impactful as this.

I'm trying my hardest to keep myself together. There's been moments where I've pictured in my head before I turn around a corner in my apartment seeing my mother standing some place, looking in my direction. She would almost have an emotionless face on her, and when I would turn the corner, she wouldn't be there. It's just imagery in my mind.

sorry to bring this thread back from the brink again, sort of getting dragged through the process by family members but if you want to leave condolences for my mother who passed away quite recently, or make a donation towards the Heart & Stroke Foundation (which took her life very suddenly) or Peterborough Humane Society (she was a cat person, we have 4 of them), her official obituary notice is online here:

I'm only quoting this particular post because your mother's wish breaks my heart. It's so sweet and makes me want to cry.

you have my most heartfelt condolences for your loss. I hope you, your brother and your family are okay. I also hope the kitties are okay. It's so scary to imagine losing someone so suddenly like that; I wish you didn't have to experience it. I'm here for you if you need it.
