I managed for a while since I usually only needed to wash my utensils and was using plastic plates a lot since I was close to moving but after a while I really needed to do some washing and decided to just move all of his stuff elsewhere. Eventually I got to a pan that had some leftover rice of his in it soaked in water surrounded by green/greyish sludge and HOLY SHIT those were some of the most vile smells that ever penetrated my nose. I've never really had much trouble with bad smells but that made me heave. I left all of his shit standing in the kitchen and moved out the next day.
My brother's roommate is exactly the same way. He had a dish that had used when they first moved into the apartment and it hadn't been washed at all, and then it was covered in mold. He finally washed it. Most of the mold is gone. It smelled really bad. Stuff like that could pose a major health hazard. Also, now this guy is leaving empty pop cans all over his desk in his room and not doing anything about them. I get it that it's his bedroom, but still since he's living there, he should take some responsibility. Ironically, this guy is really good at his work (gets really good tips).
