so? moving them to token level ranks is just like saying "i AAAed everything i'm done" even though you really didn't.

Only difference is people will say, "I AAA'd everything I'm done, except RATO and DP, but they are shitty files so who cares."

i never said that. i said there is less incentive to play them.

there are stat bars that lists how many AAAs, FCs, and tier points you have. this is indicative of the gaming being about completion. if it isn't suppose to be, just remove them altogether.

you are making an assumption that everybody feels this way. that isn't true, i know players who don't think this.

Yes to Death Piano to move to tokens.

Don't know about RATO. That song isn't as rediculous as Death Piano in my opinion. If anything, and I might get some hate for this, I don't see it as a joke file like I did before when I was bad at guru's and high guru's.

I don't know, maybe it was intended to be a joke file. If anything, the mass amount of confusing noises that song makes kind of fits the file in a weird sort of way that I don't mind that there's 50 notes coming at you in a span of one second.

I wasen't responding to your point, but if you insist I do, I don't think there was a whole lot of incentive to play them in the first place (considering the vast majority of players have to resort to mashing both files which in all honesty is not particularly fun~)

there are stat bars that lists how many AAAs, FCs, and tier points you have. this is indicative of the gaming being about completion. if it isn't suppose to be, just remove them altogether.

Then we just view the game differently. imo stats on FFR are more just to give you a sense of how much you've accomplished rather than tell you how much further you have to go~

same argument can be made about other FSOs and high FGOs

But yeah, these two files are complete shitfests in comparison to everything else. They're obviously joke files and my ranks aren't laughing.

@ Fission: you make a good point, but it's pretty bad when players that were working on their ranks had no intentions on touching it. When I had an average rank of < 1.05, I would work on all of my other files, but never touch Death Piano or RATO because they truly are just... unfun.

RATO requires luck because there are obscenely fast bursts that obviously have to be cheated with rhythmically sub-divided jumptrilling. For me, DP isn't that bad; it's very possible to AAA. RATO is more up my alley with the heavy jumpstreaming and strange patterning, but the file really is bullshit (sorry DGK).

EDIT: in your defense... getting a good file at this difficulty level is nearly impossible.

Oh, I guess this is as good place as any, but I find Death Piano harder to score on than RATO.

I think the difficulties should be switched for those two, the 99 being DP and 98 being RATO, heh.
