my taste in music stemmed from classical music.. which is why i prefer instrumental music / complex compositions over simple beats on a generic hip hop or rap song.

im sure there are others who feel the same way

edit: complex sounds too vague.. but i pretty much listened to classical music for quite a while, most of it is earsex

Also I'm seeing a bunch of artists I'm not all that familiar with. If you could elaborate on them, because I'm definitely interested in checking them out but tell me why I should look up your favorite artists, Kinda like how I described why I personally like Eminem. If you just say a name and say "Cause they're good," that won't really compel me want to look into them.

danny brown uses a ton of wordplay (moreso than most mainstream rappers), and he has a few songs that are considered explicit, even in the hip-hop world

kendrick lamar is really good at storytelling

a$ap rocky has a pretty interesting flow, and, being a "southern" rapper from new york, he has a bit of a different approach to the style and it works really well (also some of his tracks are basically Lean: The Original Soundtrack)

clipping is what would happen if mc ride learned to enunciate words and did a collab with merzbow
