Going to go with a no on all three of these. They're all very "stepman" metal, great stuff to step if you want but not for this pack.

Also, I've already stepped Starchild haha. It's going to be in my next tournament! (That's not the main reason I'm saying no to Wintersun of course, just figured I'd mention that song has been stepped :P)


Overall I don't want to be too discouraging, but this kind of song is just too commonly stepped.

Welp, I'm not too suprised at this, I knew that all of these were kind of borderline, especially Moonsorrow since they're known to make long-ass songs (their newest album only has 6 songs on it but they are all 10-20min long).

And now I'm sooo looking forward to your next tourney, I really wanna play that Starchild file >w<

I do have one more suggestion though, totally forgot to include them in my previous post and that would be Opeth. These guys make really unique music, at least from my perspective. I've heard some people refer to their music as "stoner rock" or "stoner metal". Also I kinda feel the need to apologise for my lack of knowledge about what has or has not been stepped lol.

A more mellow song.

Also I will look into the two songs that have been submitted already this weekend (thanks to Scintill and Middie for being the first 2 to send files!)

I only finished so fast because I'd originally stepped it for custom 8 and when they didn't accept it for the tourney I fixed it up SMized it

hay i just realized i have a really really cool song already like 60~ seconds in, and its not too stepmania related

it IS idm tho, so i'm not sure how it will come out since its nothing like songs i usually step

This is an excellent song and would likely make for a great stepfile.

It's also 100% through-and-through stepman music lol
I'd love to play the file if you do wind up stepping this, but it does not fit this particular pack.

Song choice rules:
-- No restepping a song already in FFR or ThirdStyle. Period.
-- No songs from commercial rhythm games (Beatmania, DDR, Guitarfreaks, Jubeat, etc etc). This includes base Guitar Hero/Rock Band songs (but not DLCs lmao)
-- No songs from BMS of Fighters. Not technically a commercial rhythm game but FFS please branch out from Bemani style music.
-- No songs from ridiculously overstepped artists. Sharpnel, Renard, OSTER Project, Venetian Snares, S.S.H., Dragonforce... you know what I mean here.

-- Please also try to stay away from generic chipmusic/dubstep/video game OSTs/power metal/IDM/breakcore/etc that sounds like what we're all used to hearing but is by some obscure artist. The real goal here is to widen the styles of music that are stepped, not merely the list of artists.

I absolutely reserve the right to reject stuff that is pretty clearly too "mainstream Stepman" music.

I'm trying to get people to really branch out here.

I'm sure people could nitpick genres because I'm by no means an expert, but in general it's hard not to agree that IDM as a broad genre is pretty damn frequently stepped.
I'm honestly fine with being a little bit picky. A lot of these songs would definitely make for good simfiles (which is why the genres are so often-stepped in the first place!) but I am willing to turn down good files in order to have the pack really represent something different from the norm.
I definitely don't mean to talk down anyone's musical tastes or anything with this pack, only encourage experimentation.

Is there a difficulty requirement? Because some songs might be amazing even if they're easy, since good music makes the game more enjoyable in any way
