Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
well just played rock rock for about 45 mins
there are so many bad transitions in the file I don't know where to begin, it's even more of a pain where im on a 2/3 good run and one of those shitty transitions means rip good score. (I can pretty much get a 2/3 good run most of the time, till the last 500 or so notes that is) Looks like my score isn't gonna be budging any time soon.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
All the long 32nds can be jumptrilled so there really isn't anything to change in the file. The 2 framers make sense at that file's speed but for some reason it plays as though it's glitched.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Yes!! Fu** that wrist!

I guess my best bet in this tourney is that i'm so determined. Or stubborn really. :P
Had to apply ice packs and cold water to keep my hand frozen all the time. In fact, I really like playing when my hands are cold (it's Quebec here, snowy times ahead). I was so tired of having to stop the song when my wrist burned that I finally played the entire thing with the ice pack compressed on my hand. Haha, I guess it help me concentrate.
I strongly believe this is gonna be an AAA or die round.
Gotta be prepared. :3Comment

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
mfw I see 3 people in D2 getting AAA's on the second day.
mfw I saw every division (Except D5 still, come on yo!) being another SDG cutoff.
This tournament is scary. You all shouldn't be doing this well!

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
32nds are easy and jumptrillable and as said the minijacks just feel weird... sometimes I also get random misses it seems.
It MIGHT be user-error because constant minijacks at such speeds are relatively foreign to ffr but i'm not sure.Comment

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Gotta love whoring a song just to drop a single good...D3, I kind of hate you right now. 2g and I'm still scared it won't be good enough. I don't know if it'll be AAA or die, but it should definitely be a very low cutoff indeed.sigpicComment

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Honestly the hardest part (Excluding my mindblock) would be the JS+bursts combo. I find it really hard to hit for some reason haha.I find it so odd that people are having issues with Rock Rock Rock - I didn't have to change the file any particular direction, haha. It's rather rigid, but I'm very surprised to see our typical elites not tearing it apart. I guess I'm just good at awkward patterns.
EDIT: Eze can definitely AAA this song; 5 of his goods (and a boo) were on 32nd note rolls, which indicates slightly incorrect jumptrill timing. That's an easy fix, though. Two other goods were a result of hitting slightly late on split-heavy patterns (one good on a 4-1-[32] transition, the other on a [24]-1-3 transition). He also gets a good and a boo in the beginning of the song on a weird pattern (goes 3-4-[12] 32nds with an 8th note gap into [23]-4-[12] 16ths). Right there, that's accounting for his 8 goods and two of the boos. The third boo was on 1-2-[13]-44-3, with the red arrow being the extra tap. He didn't get any non-perfects in the large jumpstreams themselves, which is huge.Comment

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament

I still don't feel safe. Even with 1 good I won't feel safe enough.
But right now, I'll improve only if I'm in danger.
EDIT : And honestly, this is really not a 74. Probably slightly harder than Nous but it shares pretty much the same structure. I think Nous is a 70 and Spaceman is a 71.Comment

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
From my tourney log:
Oooh... Top 8, now here is where it gets serious. Okay pretty hard pain file by bmah here. First of all, those minijacks require you to be focused on them entirely or you will drop tons of goods or even the occasional miss. The overall speed of this file makes the Jumpstream parts also quite rigid and for me requires hitting the earliest perfect frame to succeed. The rolls are surprisingly easy since they are perfectly jump-trillable at this speed and don't really pose a threat except the random boo or good. I'll have to focus, but a clean mid-SDG (8-5) run is to be expected by me soon.Comment

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
You know what? I apologize for my rantings and bawwwwwwing. I'm getting annoyed with something that shouldn't be this big of a deal and getting far too vociferous about it.
See, I'm almost never this vocal about a file's shortcomings, but I'm literally on the edge with this file and I just feel it crosses the bounds of what a good combo-scoring file should be at this stage. It just feels inexcusable to have to rely on what we're considering 'miracle runs' just to get to the FC level.
My two cents.

Bluearrowll = The Canadian player who can not detect awkward patterns. If it's awkward for most people, it's normal for Terry. If the file is difficult but super straight forward, he has issues. If he's AAAing a FGO but then heard that his favorite Hockey team was losing by a point, Hockey > FFR
