It's hard to get into because the first episode is kind of slow and awkward to try and grasp. I don't feel like they really tried to hook the audience, but once you are 3-4 episodes in it will start coming together.

As for right now I am re-watching Experiments Lain because I feel like the subs I watched originally were poor quality and that I might have misunderstood most of the context.

I watched the first episode of Clannad, and... spent the next 25 waking hours finishing both seasons. Then, I watched it three more times. You could mention every show made in the past 20 years, anime or not, and the only (non-Key) show that would come within 30% of Clannad is probably NGE. In other words...

Geass and Death Note are great animes to grab onto. Though Clannad has been generally noted to have a slow start. YOU seemed to have jumped on quickly but most people can't catch onto it. Apparently After Story is where most of the real action is. I haven't watched Clannad but it's on my to-watch list after Exams >.<

Shinryaku! Ika Musume (yeah, I was glad there was a second season going on when I finished this xD)
Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (ep. 1. Maybe I'll continue watching it sometime...)
Lucky Star (~ep. 4. Ditto...)

Also watched little stuff like Cencoroll and Nyoro-n Churuya-san (which is funny because I haven't even watched the original Haruhi stuff yet).
