Re: New Apartment
How is rent over there in Berkeley?
Here in my current NY apt I'm paying like $1400/mo, but the new place will be about $1100/mo (surprisingly, the new place will be better quality, have a better view, more room, be closer to work, and I'll be living w/my gf)
Also curious what Rebirth's rent isComment

Re: New Apartment
Berkeley is about the same as what you're paying, but you probably get more space here. I'll be paying $1,435/mo. for 1,100sq ft. Not sure if I want a roommate or not yet, I don't really know anyone around here that would want to move to Berkeley.
Really nice places though, free gas and heating, wood burning fireplaces, and you can't go wrong with a 2 story apartment.Last edited by darkshark; 06-9-2011, 02:57 PM.Comment

Re: New Apartment
Originally this place is 539 per month, but they have some sort of electricity plan where you pay 125 per month for electricity, and if you don't use all of it, you get money back. If you go over 125 per month, they pay the rest.
So that makes it 664 per month. All utilities paid except cable. Free covered parking, free storage locker (like 8x8, so it's decent size) It does have wireless internet free. It's a good thing, because I discovered there are no ethernet ports in this place. Good thing I have wireless cards in everything I haveComment

Re: New Apartment
God that's so cheap. I wish it were cheaper here. I could get a damn mansion for $1400 a month in some other states lol.
The $125 a month seems kinda dumb...like...they might as well just have you pay the amount you owe. Free internet is a huge plus, unless of course you have several people downloading shit and it ends up slowing to a crawl all the time.
Covered parking is an absolute must-have if you ask me, it's pretty much a deal breaker if they don't have it. I have to end up paying $60 extra per month because I have 3 cars and a motorcycle. =(Comment

Re: New Apartment
That's insane though. 3 cars and a motorcycle. We get one port per person. So I have 2 carports. I could fit a motorcycle and my car in one but I don't have a bike yet. That's something for when I have more money. I wouldn't buy one unless I paid in full when I bought itComment

Re: New Apartment
I'm a manager at Papa Johns lmao. 8.50 per hour, working 30 - 40 hours per week. A lot of that is going out and marketing all over town for 9.00 per hour. Paychecks are around 600 every two weeks.
It's unfortunate I'm not in Kansas City working. I'd be making 10.00 doing the same thing there.Comment

Re: New Apartment
Where do you live?
In super populated areas like CA or NY, minimum wage is much higher than it is in the midwest, because the cost of living is so high. Wages in a state coincide with what the cost of living is. Cheap living = lower wages.Comment
