First Digimon movie was the best.

Red/Blue/Yellow = Complete with 151 caught. (<3 Mew Glitch)
Gold/Silver/Crystal = Complete
Sapphire = Complete pokedex and 350 hours
Pearl/Platinum = Complete pokedex and 500 hours total
Black/White = wtf are these things...

I still own every portable Pokemon game in English. So Pokemon gets my vote.

Not to mention Digimon was made first, including the trading cards. Pokemon basically was a more simplistic rip-off of Digimon.

Definitely pokemon. I've been a pokemon geek since it started (still kinda am), and after countless hours spent on the games it's definitely better than digimon. I have played digimon though (world 3 for ps1) and it's a good game, but not as good as pokemon.

One example of my extreme love for pokemon from back in the day was playing pokemon blue (3 years after it came out) and stopping at the entrance of Mt.Moon. I would enter mt.moon and catch zubat, geodude, and clefairy. then I would come back out of the entrance and train in the patch of of grass right below. The crazy part is I'd train every pokemon I had to level 20 (even the magikarp) before I continued to cerulean, and the pokemon I battled were only level 9 at highest. I had 11 pokemon trained to level 20 (I think that would be 20 pokemon in my pokedex without getting past Mt.Moon). Took about 2 days.

Talk about extreme preparation huh? xD

Digimon is actually a ripoff of Tamagotchi. They are those little key chain "pets" that you could take care of.

They definitely capitalized on the success of Pokemon with the movies and TV shows, but they do make sense on their own, and they never really copied the "Gotta Catch 'Em All" format of Pokemon that others, like Monster Rancher, did.

Agreed and I still enjoyed Digimon but it wasn't even near as good as Pokemon
