It's getting better all the time
I used to get mad at my school (No, I can't complain)
The teachers who taught me weren't cool (No, I can't complain)
You're holding me down (Oh Oh)
Turning me round (Oh Oh)
Filling me up with your rules (Oooh)Comment

Re: FFRMas 2010 - from Dec 19th to Dec 25th
agreed - rating system needs an expansion, or just flatout overhaul. Rather than letting the 1-99 scale go to waste, you can get rid of the difficulty names of things and redo the entire XML based off of these difficulties. It would be a bit tedious, but it's a job that might need to be done later anyway; better sooner than later in my honest opinion.
IMO this is the way FFR should be played.. so everyone stfu and stop discussing about what difficulty they should be in.

Why is Club 81 and AIM Anthem 79? AIM is clearly more jacky, and IMO, due to switching from one hand jumps to singles, much, much harder than clubIt's getting better all the time

Re: FFRMas 2010 - from Dec 19th to Dec 25th
After going through this thread I think we should take a few weeks time to do a complete rating and difficulty system overhaul... the current system is simply unaccurate. I remember someone proposing a formula of sorts + some human input should do fine.
Excited about the new songs btw
ALSO:
The correct title for "of course" is:
Ofcourse you Need and nEed and neEd and neeD and NEED ME? [source: http://vgmdb.net/album/6429]
Unless that's to long but I'd rather see the proper title in-game.Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 12-25-2010, 12:13 AM.Comment

Re: FFRMas 2010 - from Dec 19th to Dec 25th
You're thinking of this:
Here's a way to objectively, numerically determine whether the community seems to find one song easier or harder than another (although you can only do it for songs that have been out at least a few weeks, to allow people to optimize their scores a bit):
1) Get a list of all people who've recorded a positive score on both songs, and include their scores. Remove anyone who hasn't passed both songs (their P+G+A+M is not equal to the max possible combo). If you want, you can remove people who aren't good enough at the song (say, anyone with more than 20 misses or more than 100 boos).
2) Convert the score into Lost Raw Score (LRS), which I'll define as G*25 + A*45 + M*60 + B*5. This is the difference between that score and the AAA, PA wise.
3) Remove anyone from the list who has the same LRS for both songs.
4) Now, give one point to the first song to each person who has less LRS on that song, and the same for the second.
5) If the first song has more than 55% (pick a threshhold, something above 50%) of the points, you can say that that song is easier. Similarly for the second song. If neither has enough points, you can say that there's no significant difficulty difference.Anyone interested in taking a look at my objective difficulty comparing idea again? I guess it was missed. The basic gist is that you wait until a good chunk of people have played both file A and file B a few times, and then figure out how many people do better on file A than file B, and how many people do better on file B than file A, and if one is significantly bigger than the other it means one file is easier than the other. (We ignore people who haven't fully played both files, and people who have the same score on both files.)Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment
