Just because I happen to be decent at reading 1x and dodging av-misses doesn't mean that I don't have to work at getting my FC. I came AFTER when av-misses were in play, and I was barely a contender in D1 when average misses came around. I don't have to put my shoes anywhere because I worked my ass off to get where I am in both reading, skills, and anything of the like.
Two: the structure of this tournament is going to obviously encourage mashing because lower level players aren't even capable of doing these songs normally, let alone fighting average misses and playing on a speed-mod considerably lower than normal. And you know what, you can't sit there and say that I'm saying this because I have the FC in the bag because guess what, I whored the other three songs just as much as anyone. Want to know something? My Caprice plays were only in the low 40s when I started the round. Go look at them now. Go ahead and see that I'm at 513 plays. But hey, I have the FC this round in the bag, and I totally didn't work for them in the other rounds.
I was getting pissed off about it in Caprice, not because I was upset at other people doing it physically, but because of my struggling to FC and me not WANTING to mash. I could care less about people mashing to get a good score; it upset me more knowing that I could get the FC for a song with a substantially higher score because they would push through by simply mashing through.
Because me telling people that they should lay off and allow people to play the tournament THEIR way is totally me saying that I'm elitist/better than you.

That's not what you said in VC or in the post you deleted. Quit trying to cover yourself up and throw us under the bus, you had the same feelings as I do. I recall you saying something along the lines of "What's the point in doing this when someone's just gonna come along and mash FC it? Screw it I'm done." Then you made the (now deleted) post saying you quit for reasons listed above.
So I can probably safely say that the quoted paragraph above is total bull**** besides the self-motivation part which pertains to everyone who isn't mashing, thus strengthening my point.
Also, you mentioned how you had to work for your skill like everyone else, I frankly don't see how skill level has anything to do with the topic of getting cheated by mashers. I'm fairly sure the general idea of this tournament was to relive the aspects of 1x and av-miss dodging, not mashing through everything, how can the past be appreciated if all people are going to do is blindly smash keys? It just doesn't make sense to me.
Sprite's being super generous with the prizes and the worst possible position you could end up in while submitting a score for that round still awards you like 15k credits. When that's the worst possible outcome, why wouldn't you just try to enjoy the tournament instead of making this controversy by cheating the players who actually give a damn? Christ...

Personally I think that people join a tournament to submit as high a score as possible. So the players can use whatever skills they have at their disposal to get as high a score as possible. As long as people follow the rules, I don't see a problem.
Like someone else said earlier, I expected to see a mix of PA and mashing. The all-out mashers aren't going to win anyways.

Okay seriously guys, can't you all see that Sprite is basically giving out free credits for everyone who participate in this tournament? Who cares if people mash or not, the point is that you're all winning something by the end of this tournament. There is no 'loser' in this tournament.
Honestly, you guys take this game seriously. Just take advantage of this opportunity to win free credits.===============================
The idea that RDCP 3 may come out in the future is a fun thought to have~
