I'm not sticking up for emccky or anything, but i'd like to point out that NFS Underground 2 is on each system. Whats sad is that Guilty Gear is too, and Fusion Frenzy is complete bs. X Box, put as nicely as possible, is the worst system I've had the misfortune to play really. The controller is too big for my hands, and I have some hugh gass hands. The games are either copies of other games, or just not fun at all.
My friend came up to me and said, \"You know what I like, Mashed Potatoes.\"

I have nothing but love for the big XBOX controllers. And nothing but h8 for the S ones. I don't have big hands, but it is nowhere near too big.

I figured you were in the Halo fanboy ranks, and you have to admit, your post was pretty bad. I saw an oppertunity to argue my point and jumped on it- it's the equivalent of the defendant of the murder trial admitting something case winning. That wasn't a 'misunderstanding', Laharl, come on.

You should have quoted my post and said "God you're Gullible." Do that next time.
Alright, like, I know that coding of a game invovles the graphics, obviously. What I meant by HL:S not having different graphics were more specifically talking about textures and models. The ragdoll effects and the water are results of the physics behind the game (you know, force against this object = this result on these polygons here), which I don't consider graphics. Clive Barker's Undying and Unreal run on the same engine, and have differing graphics (Undying is a lot better looking than UT is) with mostly similar gameplay.
My whole point was that saying a game's engine had nothing to do with gamplay but everything to do with graphics was stupid, although I made an ass of myself by implying the exact opposite was true.

Now, I will admit, I don't code games, nor do I know how to. If I'm 100% dead wrong here, then I zip my lip and shall never speak of it again.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The Best Game of Halo Pl

About GG: GGX2 is on the PS2. GGX2 #Reload is on the X-Box. Similar game, but #Reload is a lot different. Characters have been rebalanced, as well as a compltely brand new Robo-Ky. Also, online support > non-online support.

The X-Box has lots of good games that are X-Box exclusive nowadays. Fable, while short and not living up to hype, is still a fun game (with updates expected to greatly improve it's longevity sometime around Christmas.) Ninja Gaiden is pretty damn good, if you ask me, even if it's hard as hell. There's more, but stuff that's not immediatly jumping to mind. I'll go write a list of good exclusive X-Box games next time I'm down at work. Also, most cross-platform games are better on the X-Box than other systems. The PS2, I hate with a passion, other than it's games. Graphically, it IS inferior to the Box and the Cube. It also takes longer to load and can't handle some things that the Box can. For example, the new Ghost Recon games? The PS2 one runs on an older game engine than the X-Box one because the PS2 can't handle it. Both are different games, granted, but not majorly.

X-Box "fanboy"? No. X-Box defender, yes. It IS a good system, despite all the microsoft Hate that is prevalent today. The only system out right now I don't like, as a system, is the PS2. It just has the widest library of games, so I tolerate it. The GC should get more love, but companies consider it for kids only, and ignore it. The reason it's "kiddie" is the fault of the developers that think it is. It's not longer a kiddie system when you make, say, Resident Evil for it. OH WAIT, THEY HAVE MADE IT FOR THE GC. You've also got the remake of Metal Gear Solid 1. Not a kiddie game.

I'm ranting. I'm stopping myself now.

Congratulations on getting all those kills and metals, but it seems like you got almost all of them with the sword... Not to mention the fact that it was a CTF game and you had no flag captures. The 33 and 2 is something you'd look for in a team slayer game - I've had 3 kills and 13 deaths in a CTF game but I was still the MVP because I had 7 steals and 3 caps.

Personally I think that Xbox didn't have that many great games when Halo came out. That's why it was so over hyped.
IMO, if it weren't for Halo, the Xbox would have gone the way of the Dreamcast and 3DO. Every single market analyst agrees on this. Halo saved the Xbox.

What I meant by HL:S not having different graphics were more specifically talking about textures and models.
                        Which is true.

The ragdoll effects and the water are results of the physics behind the game (you know, force against this object = this result on these polygons here), which I don't consider graphics.
Which is only halfway true. Yes, the ragdolls are entirely physics based, water is not. If you put the gravity up or down, the water effects don't change (to the best of my knowledge). Either way, the specular lighting changed as well, not to mention the ability to Antialias and jack up your filtering. All that stuff made it look better.

Clive Barker's Undying and Unreal run on the same engine, and have differing graphics (Undying is a lot better looking than UT is) with mostly similar gameplay.
Engine =/= gameplay. Period. And most of the time, Engine =/= graphics as well (over differing games). The gameplay of a game is entirely up to the developers and has next to nothing to do with the engine- hell, look at Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. It uses the Source engine, but the game is a buggy POS and it looks like crap.

My whole point was that saying a game's engine had nothing to do with gamplay but everything to do with graphics was stupid
Again, though, 99% of the time engine =/= gameplay. It really has very little to do with it unless you're real innovative, such as how HL2 utilized the gravity gun and the excellent Havok 2.0 Physics engine to create gravity puzzles.

Now, I will admit, I don't code games, nor do I know how to.
                        Neither to I. =/

Because everybody plays console games for graphics.

This is why I stick to PC. It's got all the advantages of the consoles and none of the disadvantages, plus you don't have retard fanboys screaming at each other. Well, you have the Pro-Macintosh idiots, but they're quite fun to debate because they don't have a leg to stand on. With console wars, they're all neck and neck, so debates turn into a pissing contest of he-says she-says. Lame.

And honestly, I have nothing against Halo or Halo 2. It's the same principle I have with God. I have no problem with the big guy himself, it's his fan club I can't stand.

I'm one of the people that doesn't "stick" to anything. I play what's fun, and that's the end of the story, really. Consoles might be inferior, graphically, to computers, but that usually depends. Most people don't have the 4 GHz, ATi Radeon x800 Pro, 2 gigs of RAM computers you need to make most computer games super pretty. Call of Duty, when ran at a high resolution with every graphical setting set to max, looks better on the computer than does the console one, but for most people, it'll run choppy as hell that way. The CoD on the X-Box has better graphics than the PC CoD, for the majority of gamers out there.

Who plays games for graphics, anyway? Graphics are nice, of course, but gameplay wins the day 100% of the time. For example, Doom 3 is a terrible, terrible game. It's got atmosphere, and that's it. You run around with a flashlight the entire game, see a monster, get hit by it 5 times while switching weapons, fire at it until you kill it in the blind, then go back to your flashlight. It's just not fun, as pretty as the game is.

Also, I've seen a lot of PC fanboys pissing at each other, mostly over good games and trash games, but it still happens.

Granted there are those who just don't like FPS's or Halo 2, but I have yet to see someone on this thread that didn't like Halo 2 because of the gameplay. I just saw people bitching about it being over hyped and whining about fanboys being narrow-minded. That has everything to do with the game, doesn't it. I know that it isn't innovative, but it's fun.
Did you just skip my post or something? I listed primary reasons why I hated Halo 2. Culmination of bad graphics, bad storyline, and even worse ending make the game a waste of time. Add to the mix some really stupid renders of post-innovative concepts and you've got yourself a 5/10 in my book.

Also - the Xbox has the least number of decent EXCLUSIVE titles. Accept it and move on. You KNOW it for a fact and I really don't want to spend an hour digging up all the information required to back this up, so just ACCEPT it. In terms of graphic capabilities, the order is:

                            Good PC -> Gamecube -> Xbox -> PS2 -> Crappy PC

This has ALSO been proven, so shut up about it.

                            ~Squeek

Ps - Laharl, from the person with almost the best computer on FFR, I can tell you your logic on the requirements for running a game at maximum is highly flawed. 1gb ram, X300, p4ht 3.0 and I run Doom 3 at Ultra Graphics, 1024x768, Alti-Alias x4 smoothly. All other FPS games are maxed out without trouble.

Yeah, Laharl, that was a bit off base. It's a misconception that you need to spend thousands of dollars to play games well. I can max out HL2 without breaking a sweat and I've spent a total of under $1000 on my computer, which is almost two years old now. Regular maintenance, with periodic graphic card updates are all you need.

I mean, you basically agreed with my motto of:
"The Xbox- the platform for gamers too poor to buy a PC and too stupid to understand one"
