Re: The FFR Credit Gambling Thread - Whine & Gloat HERE!
this is what all of my betting looks like:
i lose a bunch, then i start making bigger and bigger bets until i win.
5000 14 seconds ago Won
1000 30 seconds ago Lost
1000 1 minutes ago Lost
100 1 minutes ago Lost
100 3 minutes ago Lost
100 3 minutes ago Lost
500 3 minutes ago Lost
One i=time i started at 10 credit bets, kept losing, started doing 10k credit bets and kept losing. Then i did a 50k credit bet, lost. Then i did a 100k bet and won and was +10k lol.
Credits Won: 1995665
Credits Lost: 1904180
Best Win Streak: 10
Worst Lose Streak: 11

Re: The FFR Credit Gambling Thread - Whine & Gloat HERE!
rushy: There is totally strategy involved. It is 50/50, yes, but there are TONS of ways to bet. You can hedge, you can cover, you can bank, and you can occasionally take a winning risk.
Waffle: Waiting until you lose a lot does NOT help you, and if it does, it is purely luck. That is Gambler's Fallacy. A long losing streak does not make the chance of a win greater or smaller than 50/50. It will always be 50/50.
Up another couple hundred thousand.
Rank 3 greatest increase, and I started out in the hole this morning, technically speaking.Last edited by MrRubix; 07-13-2008, 10:54 PM.Comment

Ok, basically, Gambler's Fallacy is like this.
Say I flip nine heads in a row. Sounds pretty rare, right? It is!
Now let's say I ask you to come flip a coin. I don't tell you that I've already flipped it 9 times.
Are you going to tell me that your flip is heavily weighted towards tails just because I managed to hit heads so many times and that somehow that streak has to end?
The answer is no -- it will always be 50/50. If an event has already happened, you cannot factor it in. What has happened has already happened with 100% certainty and can longer be included in any calculations -- you can ONLY look at the present onward.Last edited by MrRubix; 07-13-2008, 10:59 PM.Comment

Execpt there is a way to flip heads 9 times in a row, and roll a certain number on a dice 10 times in a row. or however many, though yer post is right, i wanted to say this

I'm not factoring in BS weighting schemes or flip methods -- I'm talking pure randomization here using fair objectsComment

Lonewolf: What kind of methods are you referring to, out of curiosity?
Waffle: I'll tell you for 1 million credits.
^That is actually a very fair price considering you can earn a ton more with the strategy. I am just impatient.Comment
