Re: Submissions Reopened For FMO/FGO Simfiles ONLY

Personally, I wanted to make a file that has jacks in it, seeing as I haven't before.

They're aren't bs and aren't ridiculously hard. Just lots of minijacks at 160 bpm, kinda like the ones in piano etude.

I don't know what difficulty the file is as I can't do it well...

I highly recommend you get someone good to check your files before submitting if you aren't sure your files are accurate/good enough.

We aren't going to accept erroneous files, and making accurate and difficult and fun files is a difficult thing.

Wouldn't It Be Amazing if we had m1dy's permission?!

          Speedcore = ultimate FMO/FGO IMO

              We need you m1dy. ='(

This game needs more vunderbar...and holds...and hands, and for those who cant hit 3 or more keys, go buy a computer that wasnt made in 1997, and make sure to buy a windows XP disk as well or ask for XP instead of vista when ordering.

Anyway, I guess ill try to step a file.

Well, I saw in the beta that you can reset the key settings. That means that instead of using the arrows you can use the letters. I can only do 2 keys on arrows, but 4 on letters, so that would help.

anyhow, soon as spring break comes ima learn how to make files. hopefully I'll have one done by May. Then, if I use more time I'm sure I can make FMO and FGOs =D But not by end of Feb.

Yeah the ave-miss fix broke the restriction for pitch relevancy, so expect better files.

We decided to allow hands only for the hard file batch.

But make sure that you can put them only where they should be.
Abuse/overuse of hands will be easily the reason for rejection, we won't allow anything like "handstreams" of course.

                              I have an idea!!

Instead of having just random hand files, have hand versions.

                              Example: One Minute Waltz
                              and...
                              One Minute Waltz [Hands]

xxxxx So if that's when they're due... Is that when you're going to begin testing them? Is there going to be time for revising files if they do not make it the first time the files are judged for the event?

xxxxx ... And how many files have you been receiving for this, anyway? Because one idea that could be interesting... If there's not many files, it shouldn't be hard to test a small batch every few days. If you gave a list of, say, what the judges believe to be the twenty best files received that's updated whenever you test batches (along with the rejected notes and everything)... Well, it would probably spark competition for those top spots. Even if on the list, artists may try making their files better so they the file is higher up on the list so there's a smaller chance of it going off the list. This might produce better files if artists are constantly trying to make them better.
xxxxx And you said that the event will consist of fourteen FMOs or FGOs... But I said twenty earlier to address another problem: how the players, not just the judges, rate files. If you had the top twenty released to the subscribers , they could test files and say which fourteen they believe should be in the event. The players might not agree with the judges on which are better. So those fourteen could be released through the event, and it would give the artists of the other six files time to revise. The files could be revised (to make them even better than before) or left alone, and they would be released through normal batch.

Uhm, yeah, just something I thought up earlier today...

                                P.S.
Hands? That sounds like it could be fun. I've always thought hands could do Monstrous Turtles! lots of good... At a FMO V2 of that could be interesting. And very hard.
