And this is why I like Rock Band. Harmonix haven't even confirmed a Rock Band 2. They're counting on their DLC for now and possibly longer to keep the game going. Instead of releasing the game and making people wait months for the next one, DLC delivers early and often. Keeping people interested and looking towards the future.

Since I think I sucked at saying that..

DLC > New Game Announcement.

The Guitar Hero team should take a hint.

There's been about, what, 15 Guitar Hero III downloads verses about 50something Rock Band downloads? They have the ability for more downloadable content, and yet they throw it out the window to develop a fourth game.

Then again, it doesn't help that the Guitar Hero downloads are $0.50 more then Rock Band downloads.

Hopefully they take out battle modes.

Or atleast have the option of just playing together, no matter what the difficulty is.

And for the most part, I was on par with rock band. It's one of the greatest concepts to video gaming, but the songs are completely boring to me. I seem to have a preference for "stronger" rock music, and the Guitar Hero series brings that to me.

I also don't like the sensitivity of the strum on Rock Band. In GH, I could strum away without worrying about how hard I'm pressing on it, and I could use the **** out of the whammy bar.

It's the whole Arcade v. Realistic battle IMO -- Guitar Hero being the arcade, Rock Band being realistic. For my preferences, Guitar Hero wins.

PS: I never download anything for Guitar Hero. I'm fine with the song collection that they give me and what me and brother unlock.

I agree for the multiplayer bit, but I especially hated the ****ing boss fights, being forced to do that in Career ruined the game for me, not fun whatsoever.

I hate the Rock Band guitar, they messed that up pretty bad. I'll take a GH2 controller over GHIII/RB any day.

What worries me the most is that Activision is going to ruin the Guitar Hero series like they did the Tony Hawk series. When TH started out it was awesome and fun, each new version had great additions and was an awesome game. Then once Activision saw they were in a safety zone and knew the next installment would sell regardless they ****ed it all up. GHIII already started taking that path in the same way TH did, by playing into the skater/guitarist stereotypes.

Not going to bother checking legitimacy, but when I knew about Through the Fire and Flames in GHIII, I figured Fury of the Storm would be GHIV.

Operation Ground and Pound would be a better choice...with split solos and a whammy barr tapping feature like they use...and a removable neck with 2 sets of fretbuttons made just for this song

I'll be happy with GH4 if they put Cuka Rocka on there. That would be a such perfect song imo.

Rock Band is the true GHIII IMO. I love that game but somehow the soundtrack isnt what I wanted. the DLC is sweet tho

You don't have to switch down. Only if you don't feel like strumming.

Ok.

X-BOX 360 guitar > PS2 guitars > Rock Band Guitar < tissue

EDIT: Forgot. 3 things I actually don't like about using GH guitar for RockBand. 1. I can't do fun solos with no strumming 2. I can't use the thing that makes your guitar sound different during solos or starpower (I frogot which) and 3. RockBand controller has fret buttons way cooler but sadly the guitar still sucks.

Rock Band fret buttons are so close together and there is so little definition between them, during solos it's easy to get confused where your fingers are.

Rock Band fret buttons are so close together and there is so little definition between them, during solos it's easy to get confused where your fingers are.

I wish I had experience in that. Been using my GH2 controller for Rock Band. >_>

Hmm...I guess they are making GHIV (lol) then. I'm not surprised, but I'm pretty sure they'll screw it up like Tony Hawk.
