        Re: FFR Hall of Fame

KgZ, I see your point, but you're missing mine.
We're not doing inductions based upon single accomplishments. If that were so, we'd have few players and two hundred categories. Unlike any sport, things have changed around here to the players advantage, drastically.

When baseball had just become a sport, players started out with using regular wooden bats. Overtime, the rules may have progressed, but the sport certainly did not. There isn't anything that has completely allowed players (let's exclude steroids) to have a huge advantage over anything now than someone who played 50 years ago. Players still use wooden bats, there has been no change.

Obviously, if baseball had changed for the players, meaning, let's take your home run example:
When someone breaks a record in a sport (lets say Home Runs in baseball), they're not going to say, "oh hey Barry Bonds is in the modern era of baseball where many people in the league use steroids, so instead of putting his record in place of Hank Aaron's (when no one used steroids) we're just going to put his record in a whole new category".
A home run for Hank Aaron is, and will remain for awhile, the same as any other player who hit's a home run, correct? There is no advantage within the baseball system nowadays that allows any player to have any slight advantage of hitting that ball out of the park. If there was, and let's say, hypothetically, that the MLB allowed the use of steroids, along with aluminum casted bats and put a cap limit on the amount of different pitches a pitcher can throw, then that's a different story. Obviously home runs would be a lot easier to achieve.
This is kind of how FFR is, in essence. Initially, everything was standard. No speed mods, no growing community of players. No playback. Nothing, just playing FFR. If game play had stayed the same throughout the course of it's 5+ years, I would have no problem creating an overall list of records for each specific accomplishment, but it hasn't. What you're really pushing towards is the exact same thing as we already have; high score lists.

I'm sorry, there is absolutely no way one person on here will convince me that you are able to compare someone from this day and age to someone who played 4 years ago.

          Nice list.

          1. maybe you can guess the date of most events from the forum logs. first, we need a list of events without the date. I've posted an uncompleted list here while ago.

          2. We need historical Admin/Mods list, not only current one. Does someone here remember when Arch0wl was a Mod?

          3. As far as I know, 5 or 6 official tournaments(or leagues) were held in history. yea we can list the winners.

          4. Are you talking about Award of the year? just need to see the thread then.

          5. OR holders are easily listed, but it would be hard to tell the date. FYI when OR system started I was already rank 1.

          6. including stuff like first AAA or FC of some songs?

          7. after FFR scores thread was created, it's not that important for me.

          8. maybe, a bit hard to tell for me though.

There were rule changes after the Dead-Ball Era which made it easier to hit home runs (techniques pitchers used to gain an advantage over the batters were banned after a player was killed by a bean ball he couldn't see), around the time Babe Ruth came into fame. Baseball parks also became shorter. But you are right over the last 80 years there hasn't been much change.

Ben and Sulfer's Widget work comes to mind, but I realize there has to be more then just them.

I think adding the FFR awards is fairly pointless, since we could easily just add them to Legendary threads and sticky them. btw who's doing that this year?

If you're going to break down this into eras, maybe something that has to do with MP for every era (although I think it could only be the last two?). Something like, who the best of the best were. I only bring this up because there is that specific group of MP players who were great but did not post in the forums, or really contribute to anything outside of MP. Remember when ddrzone had a lvl of like 47? I really only know about MP from like June 2005 on, but I'm sure there are still a few of you around from when MP was first starting. If you can, and could remember who genuine Greats of their time were I feel they should be recognized.

LOL, i thought about this idea like 8 months ago but I didn't want to make a thread about it. Seeing as back then, i was a total noob who gets pwned by lvl 7's everytime. So who would support me back then? NO one.

Ps: Yay for scottish for making this thread. <3
