Further, after the first round of mandatory literacy testing back in 2001, Catholic schools actually scored below the provincial average in a whole host of school boards.

Just because perhaps in your area, the Catholic school has a better reputation and may even claim to provide a better education doesn't mean you can claim "the best schools are Catholic" or even that a Catholic education in any way prepares you for post-secondary education any better.

First off, please type properly. Not only is it making your messages harder to read, but it's actually a forum rule.

Second off, his posts aren't that long at all, and are probably some of the most logical posts I've seen on these forums.

Finally, show me where to find these stats online. I'd like to see them.

Those are the top 10 schools in Ontario according to the Fraser Report. Of them, all 10 are private schools, and not part of any school board. Of the 10. Elmwood is a K-12 school for girls, Branksome Hall is a K-12 school for girls, Havergal College is a K-12 school for girls, The Academy for Gifted Children is non-denominational, Nancy Campbell is a 7-12 non-religious school, The Ottawa Torah Institute is obviously Jewish, and Lakefield is Non-denominational. Leaving only St Andrew's (A private boy's school), St Michael's (A private 7-12 Boy's school) and Holy Trinity (An Anglican highschool)

So uh...looks like at -best- 2/10 of the best schools are catholic, and both are boys-only private school/boarding houses. Maybe next time you want to throw statistics at me, you'll make sure they actually say what you want them to say?

Edit: Further investigating found the stats you were actually referencing: A list on the Fraser Institute's website of -just- secondary schools in the public and seperate board (IE. Virtually every private school is not included in the ranking) In this case, the top 10 are

St Michael in Kemptville - Catholic Highschool
        Embrun - French Catholic highschool
London Central - Public board highschool
        Unionville - Public Board highschool

Bah, I won't list all 10 again, you'll just whine that my short post is too long again. Point is, even if you use the list that doesn't include private schools, you've got two of the top four being non-catholic. Far from "The entire top 10, and most of the top 100" as you asserted.

Well, talk to the people in charge of the school to set limits on "extreme." I think dying your hair bright green is what the school meant by "extreme." However, some teachers just take it too far...

Not to mention, since you are in a [I]private[I] school, I figure the rules will be a lot harsher. I really don't know first-hand because I'm just someone that went to public schools because my parents were poor. T_T

In Ontario, catholic schools aren't private schools.
