I mostly like animes with three things:

1. Some type of action. Doesn't matter if it's fighting or flying through space on a ship at breakneck speeds.

2. A good story. Something that isn't like we need to go to this place but this person is trying to stop us. Third one kinda ties in with this by having...

3. Characters that you care for. When they make those hard decisions between life and death, or when they're on their deathbed and make you feel for them. Those ones that put a tear in your heart. *nods* Such drama.

I personnally really like an anime that has an important character that ends up dead and the hero goes after the villain for what he did. Its even better when the hero finds the villain, thinks he can beat the hero, and gets his A^& laid out. Any show that has a presentation of this senarior gets a point in my books.

I like comedy and romance anime's, the romance ones I can relate to kind of and I love to laugh so comedy is a plus.

action as in Shakugan no Shana, comedy as in Lucky Star/Azumanga Daioh, violence as in Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni/School Days, story depth as in Fullmetal Alchemist, life meaning as in Kimi ga Nozomu Eien/Air/Kanon/CLANNAD. i didnt pick hot characters, but recently all the animes have tareme moes in them... there r some characters i like in appearance like Yukina Tomoe, Makina Tomoe, Kagami Hiiragi and some others but they rnt real after all, and i gotta keep that in mind...

but basically, i watch anime to get a momentary relief from reality... enveloped by imagination and surrealism

Basically what makes a good anime in my opinion are 4 things

1: Alot of comedy and humor
2: Randomness. Which adds to the comedy and humor
3: A well thought out line of characters for the anime that just "fit"
4: Ninjas. lol

I pretty much like the animes FLCL, Lucky Star, Azumanga, Hare and Guu (much randomness), and Naruto (ninjas)

Also, I don't know how I remembered this, but I believe the whole "Sex with tentacles thing" was from a movie (or series of movies I believe) either called "Heavy Metal" or "Dirty Pair".

Hmm....my three anime/manga are Death Note, FMA, and Naruto (in order)
.....so I put life meaning, story depth, action, and....
Hot Characters, though that isn't really a part of any of my favorites.

Action, deep plots, and characters you connect with. This is why Kino's Journey is the best anime ever (blatantly subjective).

Well me in Animes i Search Story Dept+Romance+HAPPY ENDING!!!



But im Watching of Everything....


Naruto,Bleach,Death-note,Kannazuki No Miko,Strawberry Panic....


i pass to the Extreme Gore to the Extreme Passions.....



there only two thing i dont like Naruto and Boys x boysno wonder im a men....but i like Girl x Girl




my lil top 8 of animes would be more on the Romance side but still...



StrawBerry Panic(Shizuma x Aoi!!!!!!!Kawaiii)
Onegai Teacher(i like the lil aspect of the love Between Studen&Teacher its kinda Taboo pretty cool)
Boku Wa Imouto(i like there too the Love between Sister&Brother one Episode kinda short but very Intense in Emotion)
Koi Kaze(Same here Taboo Animes Brother&sister,the brother is a bit old and graphic bit old but the story is really full of Emotion and Real love!except that "Japanese Problem" they messed up the end as always)
Chobits(one of my Best Romance Animes!!!!)
Negima(or the other version Mahou Sensei Negima)
Ai Yori Aoshi(the end is a bit too much Love.Hina,but if u dont watch the 2-3 last episode u'll love the anime)
