I haven't seen it, but all the intelligent critics liked death proof more, so that means that mal must be right, and the rest of you are ADD action-whores.

Holy crap this movie was awesome - I have to say that I liked the second half better because of the absolute ownage.

In the diner scene with the girls, did anyone notice Mike sitting at the bar?

No. Seriously. DeathProof was a piece of ****. Anyone who enjoyed it is just a Tarantino fanboy. No doubt about it.

But for those who saw Grindhouse, there was a preview called Machete. Rodriguez decided that he liked the idea so much, he's going to make it a full-length feature. AWESOME!

No. I hated Jackie Brown, his segment of Four Rooms and the majority of the ending of Kill Bill Vol 2. I just liked Death Proof more because it tended to play with my emotions a tad bit instead of going for silly, over the top violence and gore. It was toned down, real, and made me feel nervous inside.

I can't believe you would blow past my post - which was a huge justification for liking Death Proof better and chalking it up to fanboyism.

But since we're making generaliztions - anyone who liked Planet Terror better has the attention span of a gnat and would rather watch pretty pretty explosions over plot. Next time, spend double the money, get some fireworks and a PS2 game. They'll last longer and you won't look like a huge idiot.

As a seperate, straight to DVD release to coincide with the DVD releases of Planet Terror and Death Proof. Ooh, ahh, doesn't sound like the Weinsteins are trying to make more money at all!

They're also planning on releasing both films to theatres seperatley in a few weeks, so if you want to see the double feature, see it relativley soon.

Well I have not seen a lot of Tarantino movies, yet I still enjoyed Death Proof. I still like Planet Terror a bit more, but I still think Death Proof was great.

Reynolds. I'm sorry. I did not see your post up above...my bad. Seriously, i'm sorry.

I can't say I agree though, I just think it was way to drawn out to make it good. It was too much to sit through, and the dialouge got to me.

                    Re: Grindhouse

                    The movie was really good.

Planet Terror was full of senseless action, and the comedy had better taste. Death Proof had better action and was my favorite of he two. The only problem with Death Proof was that Tarantino made the movie a little too Tarantino with a lot of dialog but was still very good with the action. The trailers in between were great, and so was Machete. I think it's a great movie to see on a weekend.

The reason that made me love deathproof was....

                      SUPER SPOILER!!!!

When the girls catch Mike, they just beat the crap out of him. then he falls over and THE END flashes as the jump into the air. It was so sudden it made you laugh, and then when you thought about it and realized that it would be just like that in real life, you laugh again.

                      End Super Spoiler.

But they really should have put Planet Terror second because it jumps right into it's plot and could keep audiences attention better.

I also loved "THANKSGIVING" and "DON'T" trailers.
If it weren't for irony, this statement wouldn't be funny.

                        spoilers:

Oh man, I almost lost all the Reese's I'd just ate by the end of thanksgiving...so gross.... No part of Planet Terror was that gross; not even the "quickie" part topped it IMO.

But oh....the trampolene part.....I can't even comment on that one

But, what was that one called? Werewolf Women of the SS? Pure Genius. Machete? I'd see that movie in an instant. I mean, Cheech as a shotgun wielding priest...awesome.

I thought both movies had their merits (especially the missing reel in planet terror ) but death proof got a little tedious during the chatting but it was worth it because of the ending. I mean, Kurt Russell crying like a little baby, what's not to like?

I was literally choking from laughing so hard from Thanksgiving. The entire crowd moaned when the girl landed on the knife. Then came the part where the killer was screwing the turkey. That's where I lost all of my senses and laughed mindlessly.

Planet Terror was standard zombie fare for me. Nothing new, nothing old.

                          SPOILER AHEAD.

However Death Proof did something to me. Besides now being cautious about crazy drvers when I'm driving, my heart was literally pounding during the 2nd Chase scene. I had come to know these girls through their talk at the diner and I was actually afraid that Zoe was going to die. The ending just made me laugh though. XD
