The first game i remember playing is the first star wars shooter game on the N64. I think it was called shadows of the empire or something like that, id have to check.
P.S. - FFVII is only the favorite game to the 13 year old kids who are easily amused and love being part of a trend.
Not sure how old I was, but it was young, and my first gaming addiction was the bunch of educational games I had for DOS. Treasure Mountain, The Treehouse, Reader Rabbit, etc. Those were the greatest.
As for "real" gaming, I got really obsessed with my Sega Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog, along with my brother's Game Boy (I played it more than he did). It all went from there.
And contrary to what seems to be the norm, I've logged way more hours and own more games for handheld systems than for anything else.

My first video game expirence was on a Commodore or something simular, I played this game where your this car, (I think it was a lotus) and you bump into the back of people and they catch on fire or something. I can't remember. Although, I first proper got into gameing when I got a Mega Drive and Sonic the Hedgehog.
