Awesome anime i love watching people die e.g., that guy who got ran over by the truck, Light's "girlfriend" (yea right), L , and Light himself. Thats good stuff.

A-m-a-z-i-n-g. I think this is one of the best POPULAR animes out there. The series is going to be long from what I see so far. The manga is long, and so far, there are a lot of episodes out and it hardly coveres 5% what happens in the manga.

I think, that the manga should definitely be read before the anime. I think the manga is more in dept, so you'll get a better concept of what happens, but the anime really puts a lot of things into perspective visually.

They predicted the numbers of episodes already. 37 I think. =( Think it'll be extended though.

I've read 9 volumes of the manga. The first movie wasn't good; they changed everything. Haven't watched the anime.

Anime is 37 episodes or something.

The manga is utter garbage after about halfway through. The first half isn't so hot either, but it all goes to hell once L dies.

The show is ridiculous. I had to stop watching it because of how ridiculously overdone everything was. Not to mention the fact that it'll suck hardcore halfway through anyway.

PS: L dies because Rem kills him, causing Rem to die. Later, Near and Mello manage to catch Light. Light dies because Ryuk kills him. Also, L's name is Lawliel.

Anyway, I love Death Note, probably because I enjoy how well Kira plans things out sometimes. I watched the anime until they introduced Misa, at which point I decided that I should probably pick up the manga also, which I'd ignored for a very long time.

Anyway, I love Death Note, probably because I enjoy how well Kira plans things out sometimes. I watched the anime until they introduced Misa, at which point I decided that I should probably pick up the manga also, which I'd ignored for a very long time.

Yeah, just read the manga so you don't have to slog through a trillion episodes of the show. I was able to read the entire manga in one sitting (oh god why).

I have to agree with Moogy, though I wouldn't spoil everything like that. I stopped reading the manga as soon as Mello and Near was introduced. Hoping the anime will do a better job with that part.

EDIT: They'll be changing the themes soon and it won't be Nightmare doing it this time. That saddens me.
