They came from a Christmas event a while ago. They came with a Christmas Cracker(I think it's called) which spawned them. When you click on the thing, it puts out a Party Hat. That's why the Christmas Crackers are also worth a lot.

You mean the first Christmas event in Runescape 2?

Well, no, they had an event in Christmas 2005, too, that involved talking to Santa. He would appear in certain towns.

The Party Hats came from(I think) the 2002 Christmas event.

Yeah Party hats are uber rare. Dropped in 01 correct? They were followed by santa hats the next year, but Party hats were the most inventive and cool. Of course the Dupe Dilemma was amazing.

To be honest I think that the rares situation is getting out of hand, plus it gives many players an unfair advantage.

1) Old School players got party hats. Great.
2) Later down the line they sell these items (which, may i add, they got for free), and they sell for millions.
3) They get 99 prayer and other skills to 99 easily (because of the funds and suchlike)
4) In the future it'll be sooooo very much harder for people to get 99 prayer. Perhaps impossible, if you don't have the funds. Sure 99 RCing and being able to mine rune helps, but let's face it, we'll never be able to make as much many as the players around for the drop.
5) These players get a HUGE advantage over others. For doing basically nothing at all.

I'm not ranting just because I'm jelous, but because it's something that i just feel is so unfair about this game. But there you go, life isn't fair.

Heh, the solution?, who knows. Maybe make all these rares untradable?, but then again, perhaps that's a bit rational.

Runescape starts off slow cuz ru stupid as hell and then after u reach lvl 90-95 u think it sucks cuz u can own lvl 70s but die to lvl 100s. When the whip came out playing CW sucked cuz the dragon weapons are usless until about 90 strength when the specs actually hit 30+. Altho now that the game is corrupt and any one who isn't an idiot can make the 1.8-2m or w\e it is to get a whip now which makes the item useless.

When you have a problem that pisses you off everyday, which is half the reason i quit the gay game, you might send a query and get some useless ass response that doesn't help your topic and you get to live with the hell of it all. To put an example, I have a lvl 111 account which got severly owned by a lvl 100 with the same armor and him having worse stats obviously. Which proves that the combat on runescape sucks anyways.

Rich people in the game are useless and have no real power since the most expensive *useful* thing is probably the fury ammy at about 5m or something, where as the rare items cost hundreds of millions of gp, which in all of runescape, the easiest way to get one is from trading rare for rare. No offense to any one, but if you spend your time making 300m just to buy an item that if you lost, which isn't hard to lose items you spend months trying to get ( i've had it happen, other half i quit rs) you are truly a person with no life.

Truly, the only good thing i have to say about the game is the friends you make and have people to talk to. Not saying that 75% of the runescape community is full of 6-10 year olds who really hit a nerve and makes you wish there was a kill (x) button. In my opinion, any person who says your a loser for playing a lot is probably right. Make some friends, add them to some messenger and quit the game. Switching rpgs or mmorpgs often is helpful in anger avoidance and keeping you entertained.

(What a fun thing to write on a game I hope will one day be destroyed.)

tah tell ya the truth, ppl ovr lvl 100 are probably older members. and sometimes members (p2p) are usually old and really good. members who Phats, dragon armour, zammy or sari armour are really old and rich members. maybe if u worked a lil more harder at it u could be rich.

yeah i know what ur mean by me having bad grammar. and ty for spelling my name rite, (not alot of ppl do). i pk, sometimes...only when im bord. but im lvl 60-70, i dont work on combat. i usually mine or help a friend get money.

You play F2P for a while, then it gets boring, then you go P2P, and then THAT gets boring. Basically, Runescape is boring, but the smartasses at Jagex implemented a sort of "hypnosis" on Runescape. Once you play Runescape, you cant stop playing it because you get addicted to it. I don't play it anymore because I stopped being "hypnotized" by the game. I just got bored of it.

Now i'm "hypnotized" by MapleStory.

Haha, Joking. I played it once or twice but I found it boring. Plus I didn't want to leave behind my friends, and so went back to RS.

I understand that Maplestory is a very good game, but I didn't get the same "I'm new to this game, it'll be awesome" feeling i do with most others. So i quit :P.

Since they changed to Runescape interface, its more kidlike and for people who are illiterate. Instead of having simple emotes to read, u have to scroll over them because of a gay picture that hardly demonstrates the action. And how does it make it easier for people to play since anyone who's good at the game has become so accustom to the old interface? Noobs who have no idea wtf is happening could adjust since they didn't know where everything was anyways.
