I typically get around $1,000usd in cash because I don't know what I want.

Lucky. I say my parents are poor, but they're not.

Agreed. Christmas isn't that big of a deal, and some people just get silly over it.
Spending too much money on a child is ridiculous, your child can't have everything in the world that he or she wants, learn to draw the line.

Me: Oh my god, Dad, buy me a Playstation 3 for Christmas
Dad: Well how much is it??
Me: Ummmm about $600
Dad: **** no buy it yourself
Me: =(

Typical fatherly love right there, and he can definitely afford it, he clears almost 200k a year, but he knows where to draw the line, and I respect that.

The PS3 isn't anything I can't wait for.

That being said, I didn't ask for anything for Christmas. I already bought my Wii last month, and didn't ask for any games. It will be interesting to see how creative my parents are.

As for traditions, it's always a bit crazy with divorced parents, but it's always somewhat nice in the end I suppose.

I agree highly with you there. Although, the year when both the Playstation 2, The Nintendo Game Cube and The XBox were released my neighbor received all three as well they both got Ipods. Apparently they're positive that they will be getting both the WII and The Playstation 3. They both received PSPs for birthdays and they already have an XBox 360. And, after the typical visit to Grandma's house they come back with 10$ bills. Tell me they're not spoiled.

As for myself I have no idea what I'm getting really. Most likely a novel and a PS2 game + 40$ from family. I bought my brother some game called Heroscape? He has been obsessed with it for months. I bought my parents some simple stuff. After that I had no money left, so I'm in trouble if my friends decide to get me anything, which I'm almost sure that they did. ;-;
