A minor feature? Hardly. It's not just how the controls are set up, it's how the game is played. It makes it completely different. Things like this are the reason why some games are great and some games are horrible (especially racing and sports games).

I have yet to play TP but it doesn't seem to fit in with Zelda that well.

      Re: The Wii is Here.

One of the coolest things about video games is the difference between player imput and output on the screen. If you are going to be moving around and doing all sorts of crazy stuff, you start to wonder "Maybe I should just go out and jetski instead"

Has the Wii reached this point? I don't think so.

But it's getting kind of close.

        Hey.

        PLAY THE GAME.

Then tell me whether or not it sucks.

        Thanks.

Personally, I think it's amazing. So you need to shut up and get one, or go to a friend's house and play his. You'll see that this is not gimmicky and it works incredibly well.

Doesn't sound like you want one too badly, then. Trust me; you get used to it quickly. It's worth trying.
Im not saying it sucks, but you do have a point. I was one of those people who hated the analog stick but now I love it, so yeah if the games do it right then the Wiimote might be a good thing after all.

But let's see how Nintendo does; a feature is only as good as the minds who make it.

DAMMIT. The bomb in Trauma Center: Second Opinion is completely different from the DS one, and it keeps owning my ass over and over.

Stop being gay and post your Wii Friend Codes. Just keep in mind that contact is impossible unless both people register friend codes. Mine is:

Red Steel is one of the most fun multiplayer games I have ever played.

Played Excite Truck. Fun for about 45 seconds. Then I changed over to Twilight Princess. Fun for about 30 minutes because of wonky controls. Put in Trauma Center. GoTY IMO.

                    Re: The Wii is Here.

So far im loving zelda. Feels ALOT like the N64 versions, just instead of mashing B, you are flicking your wrist a little. I particularly like the aiming system on screen though. It feels much more natural now and is a hell of alot more fun.

The only slight problem im having with it so far though is the shield bashing move. Maybe im doing wrong, but sometimes it does the spin attack instead or takes a few attemps to get it off. Overall it is pretty smooth, but I worry in situations to come it may mess me up.

Im very impressed with the controls though. It basically feels the same as a regular controler, but with a bit more freedom. After a while I hardly notice im moving my wrist to swing, it feels very natural.

Hope this helps any of you wondering about it.

i can image kids getting frustrated with the game and accidentally ripping the controllers cord out of the socket lol. do you thiink its possible since both controllers are connected with a wire??? cause the cord looks kinda short.

It's pretty long. Though it is possible, it isn't probable.

                          Re: The Wii is Here.

So here's my 2-hour each game breakdown.

                          1) Wii Sports - Probably one of the greatest games I've ever played, single or multi player. Tennis works fairly well, Baseball is pretty accurate, Bowling is perfect, Golf is somewhat annoying, and Boxing is tiring. All of them are fun multiplayer and I never have the urge to play with wrist motion only.

                          2) Super Monkey Ball - Single Player game is beyond all of my expectations. It's just amazing. The jump feature was implemented very well and seems to be an integral part of the game now. My beef is with the multiplayer games that can be annoying at times. Some are great and some are terrible. That's what you get when you put in 50 minigames.

                          3) Red Steel - Controls refuse to work the way I would like. I like the Time Crisis-ish gameplay, but aside from that, it's just falling short of what I hoped it would be. Unlike Zelda, you have to keep the pointer on the screen at all times. You have no other choice. That's VERY hard to do even with a steady hand rested on a knee. Haven't tried multiplayer, but I've heard they're really fun despite the difficult movement.

                          4) Zelda - Perfect and absolutely amazing. I'm about six hours into the game and I cannot stop playing. It's just awesome.

I kinda want to trade in Red Steel for Trauma Center. I played it at my friend's house and despite the fact that it's also a pointer game like Red Steel, it's really precise and accurate. I'll have to see if Target will let me.

Just to add to what Squeek said:

X-Play gave Red Steel 3 out of 5, deducting for wonky controls and stupid AI.

X-Play gave The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess a 5 out of 5 for being awesome.

                            Start posting those codes!

EDIT: WTF I missed the thread.

EDIT 2: I'm about to go ahead and buy Bonk's Adventure. I keep hearing good things about it, and it's only 6 bucks, so hell, why not?

I played Wii Tennis last night. I owned. Then I played against myself. I owned and lost at the same damn time.
