    Hateandhatred's brutal contest.

    Hey guys, Im waiting for my Biology class to start while listening to a necrophagist solo cover of mine and I just thought of something:

    It's been a while since Ive been seriously practicing shit on a guitar, and well, thought that you guys might put me back to it.

    Here's the deal.

    Write an epic technical death metal solo, and post it here. At the end of this college term, Ill pick up the best one, learn it, and record it, possibly with a full crew.

    That gives you guys roughly 15 weeks.

    Here are the rules.

    - Put up an existing solo from a real licensed band or something that is obviously ripped off something else and you're disqualified.
    - A backing track MUST be included.
    - If it's midi, I only need the sound file. If its anything else, I need either a music sheet or tablatures.
    - It obviously has to be Death Metal. So don't come up with a metalcore breakdown.
    - The quality of the file won't be judged. Only the chart/melodies/rhythms will count. So no need to have a studio quality sound.
    - Has to last between 30 and 90 seconds.
    - You can experiment and use as many instruments as you want, but it will require at the very least a rhythm guitar track, a lead guitar track and a drum track.
    - If technical death metal really isnt your thing, Ill accept other types of Death Metal, like melodic death metal.
    - My guitar has 24 frets, so dont be Retarded and make use of the 30 frets available in some programs.
    - I dont have a whammy bar anymore, and all sort of pedal effects are forbidden.
    - I have enough technique to play pretty intense stuff, but keep in mind that Im not the Dossar of guitar.
    - D tuning only, as far as the guitars are concerned.
    - Collabs are allowed, but credits will be split.
    - Melt my face off.


    As said above, winner gets an actual instrumental recording, although it may take a while before I pull it off. The two runner ups will get an undefined amount of FFR credits.

      As a progressive/metal drummer, turn guitarist, turn singer/acoustic artist. I might delve into my roots and put something together for this. Got some mad wips from back in 03/04 that I could re-hash and finish.

      Competition looks tight, hopefully it gains some interest ;D

          Thanks for showing interest in this. When I saw that Nois-or-e commented on my thread, I thought that I went against some rule and that you posted for moderation lmao.

          Can't wait to hear if you pull off anything here. =)

                                      Well, they are relatively simple, since it's the same shit sweep tap over and over for most songs, but flawlessly is an impressive feat, I barely can pull off Fermented Offal Discharge's solo flawlessly in one shot...

                                      EDIT: On second thought, I don't consider any of my "one shot recordings" of that solo to be anywhere close to flawless. But my edited ones sound pretty close to that.
