Changed the title to 9 or 8. We would need substantial arguments to bring it down to an 8 before any consideration is made toward further lowering of the difficulty.

Honestly, I could see it as a 10 or even 11. The file gets really hard at the end (mirror or not) and I haven't even managed to FC yet.

Looking at solely the stepchart from an objective point of view, there's no way the file could pass for anything under a 9. There's an abundance of hand and quad jacks scattered throughout the file, something that definitely isn't seen in the lower levels.

Taking the gimmick into account (if you split any of your jumps/hands that contain both up and down arrows or quads, rip AAA), the file plays like an FMO.

To note, the original title was the more n00bish [9 or ????] since I actually couldn't tell whether this should be bumped down, UP or stay the same, since I find the moving receptors incredibly difficult to score on..

I HIGHLY doubt that 8th handjacks qualify as a boost to make this song (without moving receptors) a 9, considering in songs like Lady's Cake (A 7) we have 24th/32nd bursts and in Eclipse (an 8, although that's being debated) we have triplets-to-hands, both which seem IMMENSELY more difficult then slow handjacks.

In my opinion this is in the same category as Crowdpleaser with the whole "so completely unlike any other chart in the game it's impossible to place accurately"

Agreed. And the skill among people fluctuates VERY much in a gimmick file like this than it does in regular charts... which makes it even harder to determine just how hard it is to the average player.

With that said, I don't think it should be any lower than a 9 since there are only 5 AAA's (and 14 SDG's) out of 52 current players. Not to mention, all of these players had to meet a fairly tricky requirement just to unlock the token.

Personally, I've gotten 109-3-13-21 on it sightread (without knowing about the gimmick; I missed out on the April Fool's stuff last year!), and I haven't bothered to give it a serious attempt. But I don't see myself AAA'ing (or even SDG'ing) this one soon, unlike how I would for... pretty much every 8 or 9 ingame.

I think it should be an FMO or maybe even FGO for the whole stupidity of it, no joke. It's a gimmick file so difficulties are hard to determine but FC wise it's a C just because you still need timing but AAA wise it's high FMO it that, I'll probably be AAA'ing some FGO's before this, I can't play off screen arrows accurately :p

Bump. After getting a mid-SDG FC, which I'm pretty proud of, I'm thinking this should be placed as an FMO. (Plus, all the people with AAAs already have many FMO AAAs, so this wouldn't be giving lower-level people free bragging rights). This song is hard to PA and pretty hard to FC too, and calling it a 9 just doesn't do it justice.

So yeah I'm saying it's a 9. Without the gimmick it'd be an 8 but with it, it's a 9. Definitely not higher than 9.

sure, the notes are hittable if you lack FMO level speed and technique, but AAA'ing this song is possibly harder than AAA'ing every FMO once you're at that level, since it works completely differently from all the other songs we have and AAA'ing it requires extreme luck and quite a bit of skill with timing.

If the original pink note syndrome version was put up instead of the current synced version, it would actually have good justification to be 12 difficulty - but the resync makes it a lot better to work with.

I can't possibly see this as a 9 with all the heavy layering with the receptor gimmick.

I played the song on a different engine..
And I must say this song is considerably harder to AAA than any FMO out there.

If you're talking about the pink note one, that one becomes like 13 difficulty to PA without mirror. The file is so offsync that you'd have to luck out the entire ending unless you memorized exact rhythms, it plays like a synth file but with receptors off the screen.

The one in FFR is not that one - it's a resynced version with the same steps, which lowers the PA difficulty drastically compared to the old one.
