Not necessarily true, especially for dubstep regulars. We all know what a phat bassline would sound like there, but the intro is where all the build that gets us excited for it comes. I think it ends in the perfect place making us think DAMN I WANTED TO HEAR THE BASS DROP IN.

Might I add, this was a really well done intro. Extend it a bit and it would make a good set opener too.

I say stick to originality. Dubstep remixes are everywhere

Glad to know you all liked it so far! I don't think I'm going to extend out the intro anymore, cuz it's already a measure longer than I originally wanted. Some dubstep tracks have a 2 measure intro, most have 4, this one is 5 just to make it that much more of a buildup

I definitely want to keep it an original track, but I'm so tempted to use Dre's verse in the breakdown or something, but I can't find a clean enough version of the original track to EQ out the vocals. Seriously, look everywhere, the cleanest version of 'I Need A Doctor' is from the Grammy's (Which is actually the performance that inspired me to do this track.)

Let's just say I'll be pretty pissed off if the song doesn't live up to in's intro haha. Good work. Can't wait to hear the final product. As for the decision what to make it as, it's really personal preference. So I'll let you decide.

I'm sorry this is hurting me hearing you use the term 'measure' so incorrectly. Unless this piece is in like 128/4 meter, there is wayyyyy more then that in it.

Assuming you're in standard 4/4 like basically all electronic artists use for everything, a measure only lasts 4 beats(roughly 1.5 seconds at 140BPM)

Most intros are broken up into 8 measure parts, so you're likely to hear 16,24, or 32 measure intros (32measures is about 54 seconds at 140BPM 4/4)

I was under the impression that 4 beats makes a bar and 4 bars makes a measure. ~shrug~

I know I've been DJing and producing for years, but **** it. I'm a pre-law marketing major, not a music major hehehe

Measure = bar. They are synonymous
