    Simfile Contest $100 to first place winner

    Hosting my first Simfile Contest. 1st Place winner gets $100 via paypal. Theme for this first contest is Metal/Rock. Selected files will be released in a pack when contest is over. Anyone that's interested can enter and/or read the rules at www.cobaltwire.net
    Information is posted in the forums (must sign up and be logged in to enter forums).

    Simfiles submissions end May 21, 2009. Next contests theme will either be video games or anime depending on the votes. Heck, might even make it both.

      ok yep signed up and read everything...just wanna know..

      do you encourage dump files or no.
      does there need to be more than one difficulty.

          You do not need more than one difficulty. As for dump files, explain to me what that is and I'll answer that question.

              I believe dump files are simfiles that contain massive amounts of arrows. Think RATO.

                  dumpfiles = layering everything you can get your hands on to increase difficulty and not simplifying difficult patterns (such as putting straight jacks to repeating pitch of a drumset or guitar or whatever, even though in reality you'd be alternating motions for those)

                  basically a dumpfile is at the limit of such practices

                  e: also I'll think about making something for this in a week or so, lol

                      dump files are generally files where people just put random arrows everywhere, delete a few, then add a whole heap more in some other random places. some follow the sounds and stuff but theyre generally not fun (download the midare pack 4, its full of dumpfiles)

                      EDIT: it wouldnt matter anyway, I only follow the sounds of the song.

                      PS if i wanted to do two difficulties, would you judge both of them?

                          Dump files are fine. Just as long as the chart makes sense.
